I actually never realized it so much to be honest with you guys, although now in hindsight, going back and reading some of the threads....
I had tried months ago to stop this sort of thing, but it's come back to haunt the board. RMS, you are coming dangerously close to spamming too. Even though you're a moderator and you have a right to post, please try and respect the position that you hold and gain the respect of others. I am hearing lots of cries against your spam posts of late and people are growing annoyed. I think you yourself don't understand where you are as a poster. A 15 year old or a 50 year old.
Murphy. *sigh* I like you a lot, even though you're the same age as RMS. I know you wish to become a 'supreme' hero, but let me tell you, it has gotten you absolutely nowhere except a lot of disrespect and a loss of your most prized Quality Point. To lose honour and respect just for a teeny weeny graphic under your name is not worth it. You're smart, I know you are. Pick up the ball again. Get that QP back and use your head a little bit more. I've gone back and read some of your recent posts. And I feel very ashamed because I really thought you were better than this.
Hexa, as always you have acted in the shadows, but this time, I think I have to say that I approve of what you have done, if not the methodology. Sometimes your own posting record casts you in a spammers light, but the recent spate of posts by you are quite clearly aimed at baiting Murphy and you have been successful. Time to go and delete those posts, or better yet, just turn them into something that has at least some merit for the thread.
It used to be very rare that the topics posted in for that day would fall beyond page 2. But over the last week, I am seeing 2 whole pages of current day threads and many of them do not contain much of interest. Unfortunately spamming is to blame. One day we will see a natural progression of these sorts of things, but not until there are double the amount of active posters amongst us.
If you want to see a good conversation between people then just go and read the 'The Good Old Days' thread. These are the sorts of discussive posts that I like to see between people. And I'm sure many other people like reading this stuff too.
I can see that perhaps Coldfyrius was ahead of his time when he posted that thread about 'Degeneration of HC' lol. But I say the boat may leak but it will never sink.
We're too good at sailing for that...

and now, the cow will call the old TV black and white...
i dont think that is the wisest thing to say, RMS,
as it is an ANTI-SPAM thread!!!
a two word utterance of neutrality is not exactly QP material...

Really, these little comments on little comments are the kind of thing we don't need.
I mean, RMS didn't need to post anything to say "no comment" Or if he wanted to say something like that, he could have said it to Shae in IM.
"No Comment" is one of those things that is sorta in the grey area though, because acknowledging that you are not going to comment gives more information than just not saying anything...
...but really, RMS posting no comment doesn't help anything. Murphy commenting on the no-comment makes it worse, and really, I'm not exactly helping by posting this either I suppose, but it's a perfect example of where the spamming comes from. The little meaningless bantering and dialogue that doesn't really say anything.
However, I would like to say that the board has returned to being more normal as I remember it when I first arrived. Good job everyone. Just, everyone, please think before you post.
Are you writing something that will make somebody else think, laugh, or see something in a new way? Are you answering a question that was asked? Are you stating an opinion of some kind? If you answered "no" to all of these questions, you might want to consider clicking the "back" button instead of the "Submit Reply" button.

...it's obvious that everyone already thinks of me quite lowly, and I'm not going to say anything to try to make the situation worse...however, I am not going to just let people go ahead and think that I'm just going to ignore the situation altogether...
...perhaps I could have just IMed everyone, but that rarely works...so far, whenever I do that, everyone just gets more angry at me, and thinks I'm a coward or something, by not posting it publicly...well that's all I have to say...
...if you don't believe that I can change, and try to do everything for the better, then so be it...don't let me stand you your way of hurling any possibly insult my way...

hmmm.... as an outsider to the tavern, here are my thoughts
This whole "anti-spam" thing was originally an OK idea, but if you start pointing fingers, you're just asking for MORE spam... because a post where someone attacks/defends is spam, yet if the person is attacked, they not just gonna sit there and let their reputation be destroyed. In particular, this applies to RMS. He is a moderator, so if someone attacks him, he can't make an attack back, or people will say "you're a moderator, you shouldn't attack people". Plus, RMS is an ok guy, i dont see why everyone is against him. I mean, he is a moderator, thats why he doesnt always get too envolved in discussions, is because he is trying to be a peacekeeper and doesn't want to start a fight.
And besides that, I always thought that the tavern was the place for spamming.. and that other places like the Library of Enlightenment or the Altar of Wishes were for real posts... to actually discuss Heroes.
