RTS games - Warcraft, Age of Empires, Battle for Middle Earth etc.
Who likes RTS games? Which one do you like most? Which race in which game do you prefer? Do you play offensive or deffensive? Talk about RTS here.

I like Dawn of War 
I play defensively because I'm not very smart and I can't think up tactics and whatnot I just make a big army and send it to the enemy

Total Annihilation is a good RTS game. Even if it's old. There's just one goal, annihilate the enemy!

Supreme commander:Forged alliance is the best.I can go with over 70 different strategies and Massive multiplayer warfare's are plain fun (Oi who nuked my base  ).

poorly balanced. Make brawlers and it's over before it has even begun.
Favorite of mine: warcraft 3, red alert (all parts), starcraft 2 (ok, this one is in development, but I'm pretty sure it will be a great game and I can't wait!)

who do i play as...
Dow: Eldar, Tau, Dark eldar
Universe at war: Novus or hierarchy
Supreme commander: Aeon
Warcraft: either Horde, in which case i would use alot of neutral heroes, or Night elves.
Starcraft: haven't played, but probably Zerg.
Rise of Legends: all of them, I'm not picky about factions with that game.
age of mythology: egyptians-set, greeks-hades, norse-loki, atlanteans-oranos.
rome total war: celts
medieval total war2: english, turks, irish.

how is warcraft 3 and supreme commander?

i was going to think of purchasing them.
but for rts's i own right now...

I downloaded a units pack with loads of Anti air buildings it balance things out.

My favs in this genre are StarCraft (still , I sympathetize with protoss most), WarCraft 3 (where I like orcs), all Red Alerts, as well as Emperor: Battle for Dune. DoW is a fine jewel as well. I also like AoE II, but it's a bit slow, and some nations are slightly imbalanced. III is horrible  .
I'm quite sure that StarCraft II will impress me, and so will DoW II.
And I'm not quite sure total war series are RTS, as strategic and economic decisions are turn-based, but great these games still are.

I play Eldar, Tau, Space Marines..
but I can play any race really.
In WA I played everyone but IG and Orks...that's chaos sm and eldar, that's who I was most competitive with. I haven't played online since WA though.

Actually Angelito, I agree with you. Those games, I find, are excellent. Although I like Age of Empires I and II about the same.

Starcraft - Zerg rule supreme! The darn campaign ruined the consept of the Overmind...blaah, it should have not materalised. I am so waiting for Starcraft II to come and ruin my social life
DoW - Space Marines are the only ones I can play well, lol. But I do love the Dark Eldar (aren't the dogs a tad too good though), Necron are quite a fun consept as well. The Pariahs are awesome, I don't know why I like them so much though they are not that good alone. Well they make the Psychics scream  Oh yeah, and the Immortals... Muahahahah

In Battle for middle-earth I usually play dwarves... it's nice game, but too simple economy
Warcraft 3: probably the best fantasy rts, and maybe not only fantasy rts... I play Alliance (humans) or horde (orcs)
AOE3: I dont know why you think its horrible, its nice but extensions are horrible  when I bought extensions, I stopped playing this game...
In AOE 3 I played Russia or Turkey

I see a couple of Blizzard fans here. yeah.
Age of empires 2 and 3. I love all of them. Two of the best RTS games out there, hands down.
Age of mythology - I prefer the greeks because I kinda like everything about them and I'm sort of connected with their culture (being Romanian). Clearly the best RTS out there!
