As I said I would be ready to make a map for H3 or maybe H2 but I haven't had time to learn H5 editor yet. (That sucker needs even more power than the game itself.  )

H3 Would be a solution as well!
Maybe even each of us would make one part of a map for himself 
(but I can't say I don't wait for a touch from Vlaad in ToE  )

If we're making a H3 map, everyone should be able to participate. One can make the terrains, and put the link here. A second one can place the towns and create heroes. The third one can accomplish one zone, the fourth other zone... Then after all the zones are finished, one can create quests/missions in the map, etc.
I think that this is the only possible working way. We can't just tell every participator to make a zone, cause we won't be able to combine them. There's no "copy" option that allows you to copy a part of the map, with all the objects on it, right into other map. So there should be an order in that.
