I picked Goblins: Fragile and weakish like peasants, but they don't retalialate and join the enemy if they are to dammaged.

But still, once they are upgraded they are much more useful than the peasant's upgrade, and they can be sacrifised, thrown, and eaten. I think they they are quite useful creatures. Voted peasants.

Peasants
they give gold (and suck otherwise, but I discovered that conscript are decent with their stunning ability.
Goblins
cowardice isn't totally bad. it can be used like strike and returns and double attacks doesn't work on them.
Earth Elementals
at least they are tough 
Zombies
not very impressive indeed
Ghosts
ghosts are good (I think)
Horned Demons
my vote. too slow for being offensive, too weak for being defensive, and if you call other horned demons, they won't act before the battle is over.

I miss the troll option. Especially the forum troll subspecies is incredibly useless and annoying.
ok, and now for real  : I think horned demons are the most useless... At least zombies can act like some kind of tank while your Phoenix mops up the opposing army. Horned Grunts can be quite good though, a big stack of them can inflict a surprisingly high amount of damage if they can leap the maximum distance.

I voted Goblins, but I odn't like the Ghosts either. Mostly Ghosts and Spectres are mowed down by enemy ranged fire before they can act (quizzically this happens a lot less when they're Poltergeists). the Ghost is the by far worst LVL 3. That's why I've put it there.

yeah, but I only put "unuqrades" in the poll. If it was with uqrades it would have been Peasant instead.

I think the Ghosts is really useful. Their incorporeality really annoys me when the ghosts is my enemy. Zombie could also be useful when the stack contains a very large number of zombies like 500.
Peasants is weak but their upgrade is quite good. The Goblins is also same with peasant.
When horned demon upgraded to horned grunt it has special ability which is also quite good.
As for the others, I have no comment.

Goblins. They cant retaliate, are weak. They are fodder for cyclops and shamans so best goblin is DEAD goblin. Ou and they may betray you. We are talking here only for these creatures or also they upradges?
Ghost have one of the best specialities in the game so I wouldnt put them to this poll.

I chose peasants.Unlike goblins they cost more,have lower initiative,and less in #'s.
Ghosts-great ability,could have been stronger... Horned Demons-not much use.

Zombies.
They have no use at all.
And I think ghosts are one of the best creatures. It saves a lot of time for the hero to cast spells.

Zombies. They don't move and inflict minimal damage. may block the way sometimes though
Horned Demos at least can gate to block enemy units.
Earth Elementals are pretty sucky, but at least very tought.

I think Peasants are better than their reputation. Actually, I find either upgrade to be a quite decent fotter unit - the Bash can even be quite valuable, and the Assault ability can make them deal serious damage. Maybe not your most valuable unit, but if you amass them (and you will, due to high growth rate and normally an external dwelling), they are far from useless.
As for most useless, I have to vote Horned Demon + upgrades. I guess the Horned Grunt kind of has a use, but it still has a horrible damage output and pittiful survivability. Horned Demons just wont ever be able to do anything without Teleport Assault - and if you have TA, you'd be more motivated to go for Pit Spawn anyway.

The only problem with that is that by the time the gated stack arrives the creature you wanted to block is probably 20 miles away already

I voted zombies. they are slow and they suck in all kind off ways. the rest of the creatures are good in some way but zombies are only tank fodder.

For me all creature are needed.
Peasent(tax payers)
Goblin(for sacriface)
Ghost(miss ability)
Horned demon(explosion,gating)
Zombies(plague atack,and they die very hard)
Etc.
An army without one type a creature(lvl1,or 2 or no mater what lvl),it is not a strong army.FOr using all power of an army we need all creature.

I know, this creature still has its use, but if i must vote for the least useful creature in this vote list, it is the horned demons.
