How can I see the videos of campaigns?
When I'm entering to the scenario of campaign, I get this message:
ResourceManager
ResourceManager::GetSample could not find the "sfx" resource "ABvoFL1"
After that cutscene is black and I can only see the dialogue.
Any ideas how to fix this?
Thanks in advance!

All should be fine if you insert the disc while playing (in fact I'm not sure if you can even play Heroes III Complete without the disc).

Well I can but let's not discuss it here!
And yeah, play-cd seems to help.

With the disc inserted, you can also enter
D:\heroes3\Data
Copy the file named Heroes3.vid, and paste it into
C:\Program Files\3DO\Heroes 3 Complete\Data
Now the videos can run straight from the data files instead of the disc, so you should be okay from there.

this happens, when playing a no-cd version of game, AFAIK.
If you have a NO-CD version, look at your heroes 3 folder, there should be file, with double extension (heroes3.exe.bak, or heroes3.exe.backup) if it is there, rename the file and remove the second extension
also: ABvoFL1 is name of voice file, not video... (it is the middle two letters (vo)ice)

I got Heroes 3 Complete recently & downloaded the No-CD for it. I copied the "Heroes3.vid" from the CD to "C:\Games\Heroes 3 Complete\Data\" folder on the hard drive. I then copied the Heroes 3 cracked executable to the games main directory & merged the registry hiv included. When I try to load the executable I'm asked to insert the play disc, but if I select cancel three times, it loads the game (annoying.) Though, the "New World Computing" screen & others such as the intro video, don't play . Anyone know how I can play the game without having to press cancel each time, & get the videos to play?.
I'm thinking of just making a backup copy of the play dics & using that instead.

if there is no CD, no videos will run. I also run a cd crack (my disks got screwed in 10 years of intensive run) and I miss the videos too. Well...

Okay, thanks Salamandre. Will I be able to make a backup copy of the install disk without any problems?.

Nevermind, I made a copy of both the "Install Disk" and the "Play Disc" without a problem. I didn't have a problem installing from it either.

As this is my first post i was unable to start a new thread regarding my question. This thread was the one i could find that was most related to this matter. I hope that this is alright.
I am trying to find a way to strip Heroes 3 of the Heroes3.vid file to save space as i often run the game from an USB-drive.
Removing this file would shrink the game with about 50% and probably reduce loading times also. This could be very useful in various occations.
I tried searching the forums but i didn't seem to find any information regarding this matter.
Any replies are highly appreciated!

Armagedon's Blade videos?
Hi.
I have Heroes 3 Complete and I hear it does not include the AB videos. Are they available to download?
Thanks

The only video not included in H3: Complete is the Armageddon's Blade intro video, which can be seen here.

(I know this thread ist old but it helped a lot and I think it would do so for many other people)
I had the same problem with videos not being shown. I always received an error message that roughly said that the game couldn't fine any sfx data.
Just for information, I'm using the HD patch for Heroes 3 Complete. I knew there was a new folder created in my "Heroes 3 Complete" folder called "_HD3_Data" that contains many different files and a folder "CD Data".
I just had to go to the folder (on CD) that Cepheus described and copy both Heroes 3 files (a VID file and one that's called AU-Audiformat for me) and paste them in the "CD Data" folder. Now everything works perfect.
Thanks a lot. I wouldn't have come to this idea without this thread.
Yours sincerely
Tarvanis

Thanks Tarvanis. I couldn't get videos to run in HD either. Did what you said, copied and pasted the contents of D:\heroes3\Data to the CD Data folder in _HD3_Data. And now the videos work in HD!
Thanks very much!
