Quote: If someone is interested - unofficial Hota page has been actualized. Not all is available in English, still there is some useful information and a lot of graphics in gallery.
Translation is rather unofficial - it will be changed with the release of English version of HotA.
That's a good page with lots of useful information. I saw a picture of a HotA custom map editor in there. A brand new editor hehe. Cool.

AFAIR every creature bank has the same battlefield the terrain under it has - so the same strange thing is with Crypt, Cyclop Stockpile, Dragon Utopia, Dwarven Treasury...
But yes, it would be a very nice feature.
PS. Thanks for pointing out a mistake!

In fact, using the original editor only Cove heroes cannot be placed on the map. Even Cove town works ok apparently. (See picture).
It looks like random town in the editor, but it works fine in game.
Simply merge zeobjts file from hota.lod with your working one, add lines to ZCRBANK.TXT, move graphic files to h3sprite.lod and you're ready to make maps for HotA. Some names will be wrong in editor, but that's not a big deal.
Though, yeah, new editor would definitely be better solution than continually hacking original one. I like its interface too.

I know. It would take (2 + NumCrBanks) of lines to add battlefields for creature banks with ERM and I guess similarly simple with code hooking.

I will try this! Will all the HotA objects serve their intentional functions too then? Thanks for the tips!!

As fas as I looked into them, yes. ZCRBANK lines are needed to avoid errors when hovering mouse over new creature banks. I am leaving soon, but I'll answer your questions (if any) tomorrow.

Only WoG editor. I personally use lite editor (with lods cleaned of files, not used by editor), made by Docent Picolan IIRC.

Thanks! I don't have a zeobjts.txt apart from the one in HotA.lod. I don't have any ZCRBANKS.txt either. Where do I get these?
Thanks for all of your help. You've been really helpful.

Quote: 100% translation might be availabe at 1.2 or 1.3 but im not sure actually when. I just want the random map generator to be ready as soon as possible. And im pretty sure at 2.0, Kronverk town will be availabe.
You don't seem to be a very reliable source as it is very well known that the next installment of HotA (2.0) will introduce Forge and a new campaign to it. This has been said by the HotA team itself.
It has also been said that the English version is to be released sometime this autumn. What is not known however is that if the english version will be a translated version of 1.1 or if it will be 1.2 or something else.
I never said i am. I try to give everything i find and hear, but seems as if i don't really find the stuff i need, then i will have nothng to say about it. Here i found that in 2.0 will be Kronverk town but im not sure. http://www.mightandmagic.wikia.com/wiki/Heroes_of_Might_and_Magic_III:_Horn_of_The_Abyss

Anyway, i have plenty of ideas for monsters for level 7, but i don't seem to be the one..... how should i say it? I am not skilled enough to make the project and submit them (in any way) to the HotA team.

Btw, solitaire. I understand the editor is a WoG editor. How do I then avoid saving my maps as WoG maps? Because if they're WoG-maps I won't be able to play them right?

I can save them as WoG-maps, but i think you must disable the WoGifiyng from the options menu.

Do creature banks have their own terrains in SoD? I thought that they don't.

You can choose map format in save dialog:
The HotA/WoG map editor: Clicky!. I did not delete WoG objects, so take care and don't add them to your map.
Quote: Is there a way to submit ideas?
Write them in the HotA forum, maybe?

They don't. Hobbit said exactly the same, just with different wording.
