Another option is you could go partway to his style.
In Heroes 5, some have played 'hero' games where you are only allowed to hire one hero.

Indeed. It is impossible to gather most of the treasury and artifacts with only one hero. Bether to have several heroes and take the treasury before your opponents.
Sorry, but I wrote something wrong. More than one main hero

I see... But even if he has three deffirent towns and he lose his main armies, he would still go for the troops from his main town. That is ridicelous. He would rather build two weeks population from his main town then five weeks of population from his secoundary town.

It's a question of lore, not everybody likes to play with different factions.
When you're playing with Haven, it would be really weird to recruit Demons, like it or not, some people play for the style, not for the "OMFG I have Devils & Angels, SUPREME power yeah!!1!"
I mean, if you think about it, how can Angels and Devils play along?

Quote: You call that stubbornnes? It's NORMAL...
You play for like a few weeks and suddenly you succeed in taking the town of some pathetic loser...You suggest recruiting ppl in the town where you just mercilesly slaughtered like half the population? A secondary hero? What? Why? Can you really trust another hero? Really? Did Hitler do this when he claimed Poland?
Did he say like: "hmmm... Next week I'll have polish soldiers, I better go to the local tavern and recruit a polish general so I can have two big armies..."?
Did Julius Caesar recruit Gauls? Was he like: "hmmm... Next week there'll be a bunch of half-naked brutes at our doorstep, let's recruit an old geezer at the local tavern, so I can have two BIG armies..."?
No, my friend, One general is sufficient... Kill evryone... Anticipate evry move and act upon it...
