I have a question: As storyline, in H5 and DM, what is the order?
It begins with H5, but what is the second part, HoF or DM? Wich is meant to be played first?

I think you misunderstood me, When I wrote HoMM original I meant: HoMM V(5) original.
I did indeed misunderstand. Sorries

from what I have heard there is going to be a HoMM 6. I really hope so. There were portalws from Erathia to Axeoth right? Maybe there'll be portals from axeoth to Ashan.

I thougt that the old storyline was to confusing and to long. I always get confused when i try to do the H3 campaign.
The old storyline is just to long and you have to read lots of long books to understand it to 100%.
And i dont like the old storyline fantasy either. Its just weird and strange. Seriously Star Wars technology in a fantasy world?
I enjoyed the H5 storyline. The cut-scenes pre ToTE sucked but if you just read the "script" then its rather good.
The H5 storyline was easy and not confusing at all. It was a easy to understand and there was not 100.000 diffrent races that make a faction that doesnt make any sense.
Tribes of the Éast was the best expansion pack i have ever seen. It made the storyline a litte bit over average and was very cool.
I cant wait for Heores 6. I love Ashan, it feels like natural to be the HoMM world now. I just hope that we will see the dragonknights and hopefully the Naga very soon and in H6.
If H6 isnt in Ashan they i will kill myself.

Yes. It was to long and very confusing for somebody who had not played/read a old world HoMM game/book before. I remember that in each mission there was TONS of text comming out. I couldnt bother reading it.

Then play regular maps, or multiplayer, or just ignore the text.
Then all of us who like the plot could read it without it being dumbed down.

What books are those? There were only ever three books made related to Might and Magic and they had little to do with the main storyline from the games.

That's hardly an argument. One could also easily say "seriously, Dragons as Gods? Wtf? Are these guys for real?" Have you never heard of the Wizardry series?

A little extreme don't you think... Come on. You still have Warcraft!

I played H3 back in high school and did not exactly wrack my brains to understand. If you finish each game it's pretty clear how the storyline progresses and which is supposed to be a sequel/prequel.

for now,the chance for HeroesVI seems to be low, since ubival havent sayed any word about it,and ubisoft does prince of persia etc.. but not singe mention about HeroesVI project

if you didn't know, I had never played HoMM 1 or 2. I had never played the MM series. I just played HoMM 3 and 4. And I got by fine. I understood by the time that I finished the RoE campaign that Queen Catherine married King Roland Ironfist and came back to find that Nighon and Eeofol had captured half the kingdom and that the necromancers were behind the attacks. Then I got that they attacked back, invaded nighon, subdued undead Gryphonheart etc etc. AB was even easier to understand since they got right to the point in the storyline, Gelu and Queen Catherine have to stop Xeron who has the Armageddon's blade and get the help of the Confluxes to destroy Eeofol. SoD was also like that, all 4 heroes realize they together have the knowledge to stop Sandro from taking over the world with the cloak of the undead king and armor of the damned since Crag Hack and Gem helped give Sandro the items so they need to clean up after themselves, Yog knows of a helpful item called the angelic alliance, and Gelu has the elixir of life, which is helpful. So I got the point, SoD came first then RoE and finally AB before the reckoning happed and Hero Chronicles. HoMM 4 original was about how the survivors set themselves up. I won't talk about GS and WoW since they completely veered off the plotline.

I have played HoMM 2, 3 and 4, and I LOVED the old storyline. I don't get why it bothered people, because with storylines you can choose to read the stuff, or just ignore it. I for one, couldn't imagine playing a Heroes game without the people that I loved - Sandro, Jeddite, Alamar, Mutare, Tawni, etc. Yes, Mutare died - but that's natural, I didn't mind. But the storyline just being SCRAPPED - that's NOT natural, it doesn't satisfy my need to know more... For me, HoMM V could be the best game ever made - It's still ruined because it has nothing to do with that which attracted me to the games in the first place and which has made me play it several hours every day since before the release of HoMM 3 - the universe of it!
and I'd still really like to know WHY I had to be offended so by Ubisoft - I mean, what did they GAIN by scrapping them? WHY couldn't we hear the rest of the tale?

Probably you don't really study another person's lore and try to work on it That always fails.
But in any case I preferred the previous universe better. HommV made it too black and white for me.. Demons bad! Undead good! *pukes*
The H4 campaigns were really something, the stories they had in them were truly amazing and were the sole reason I actually bothered playing H4 that otherwise has crappy gameplay for me. The atmosphere was just perfect.

Oh and Elvin:Quote: Just play custom, ubi maps suck badly
I don't really understand what's so wrong with the Nival maps... Apart from not being many 1v1 which most players seem to like
