k, well scratch that. I got it installed using Parallel and windows XP. But now I've got a weird error where HOM won't start because it says I need 5 MB of free space. I have that, plus many gigs more. Why does the game think otherwise?

Bootcamp may be?
Can you be a little more descriptive?
For example what is "Parallel" or "Crossover" in the first place? (i.e. give links with descriptions)
I have a mac and play Heroes 3 there. However, I use Bootcamp as I describe here.
Can bootcamp be a solution to you?
The only drawback that the game seems to have is that it crashes with increased frequency; e.g. there might be a game (duration less than a month) and the game might crash up to 8-10 times, which is irritating. On average though, you should expect about 3-4 crashes per game - and unfortunately these occur more than 80 % of the time after big battles ==> it sucks. On single-player mode it crashes less frequently, but the problem remains.
