Screenshots of the new WotLK Dungeons
Hi i think the subject deserves its own thread since its 10+ dungeons in WoW: WotLK not counting raids.
Here i will post my own screenshots of the Wrath of the Lich King instances and info about them + there history.
So lets start.
Stay awhile and read.
The Nexus
We begin with one of the most beutiful instances in the game (so far).
Short Info
Number of Wings/Parts: 3
Final Boss: Malygos - Dragon Aspect of Magic
The Nexus (Instance Wing): Lvl 71-73 5-man
The Oculus: Lvl 80+ 5-Man
Raid (Unamed): Lvl 80++ 10/25-man Raid
Enemies: Blue Dragonkin, Wizards, Nature Elementals
The Nexus is the citadel of the Blue Dragonflight and the home of its leader - Malygos who is the aspect and guardian of all magic on Azeroth. However recently Malygos has awakened from a long depression and started a war against all mortal spellcasters on Azeroth.
It all started long ago. The Highbourne, upper-class of the ancient Night Elves, used the mystical powers of the old Well of Eternity to gain much power. The Dragons warned them to not play with magic in such a reckless way.
This led to the corruption of the Highbourne and attracted demons to Azeroth for the first time. Because of them the demons found Azeroth and would forever siege it.
The demon master, the fallen dark titan Sargers "Destroyer of Worlds" was almost summoned to Azeroth by the Queen of the Highbourne.
These events led to the first phase of Malygos anger. He had saw how the mortals wielded magic in a most reckless way and had used it to summon demons, consumers of worlds, to Azeroth.
Later Malygos was attacked by the corrupted dragon aspect Neltharion (who most people call Deathwing). Malygos survived but almost his whole Dragonflight was destroyed. This led to a deep depression in Malygos mind and he begun to sleep in the Nexus - his citadel and home. This was the second phase that would later lead to Malygos war against mortal spellcasrers.
But recenlty Malygos has awokened from his depression and slumber. But when he awoke he didnt became happy. This is the last phase before the events in WotLK that we call the "Nexus War".
He woked up only to see thousands, if not millions, of mortal spellcasters running around and fooling with such dangerous energies as Arcane magic. As the Guardian of Magic he saw that this must be stopped before Azeroth is doomed by the reckless use of magic that countless of people now use.
This is how the war against magic, The Nexus War, started.
Malygos gathered his flight and now uses colossal constructs to twist magical energy path called "Ley-lines" to create holes into the Twsiting Nether that will destroy all magic-users.
The Aspect of Life and the Queen of the Dragons, Alextraza has gathered the other dragonflights to counter Malygos.
As the Guardian of Life its her job to stop Malygos cleansing. Even though Malygos only does his job, Alextraza cannot accept this extermination of life.
The Nexus is Malygos citadel and its full of magic and arcane. In the Nexus you will find arcane wonders beyond imagination and trust me, this is really true in-game too.
--------------
The Nexus features three instance wings.
The Nexus, The Oculus and a unamed raid. Only the first one of these are complete and i will take you to the most beutiful instance of all to show you it with an enorumous amount of in-game screenshots taken by me.
So lets start with the Screenshots.
The instance portal to the level 71-73 instance wing called "The Nexus" just like the whole citadel.
The loading screen.
This was the first time i entered the Nexus. When i got inside the instance there was a simple icy corridor and then i turn around the wall and BAM! i see this beutiful work of arts right as i have left the boring small corridor.
Have you seen something like this in a game? And this is only the begining of one of the coolest places ever...
Just so you know that it is me that takes the screenshots and not somebody else...
A average corridor and its just so awesome like everything else in the instance.
The Flags means that a boss is supposed to be there. One of the bosses are here. The Nexus is like a gigantic labyrinth, its easy to navigate but its very non-linear and i think thats good.
Just a huge dragon statue inside the room.
What does this gate lead to?
Lets check out Malygos crib.
In the room with the gate there were two other corridors that look almost the same. Here is the first one...
and here is the second one.
As i enter the gate i see this and i just like "wow!.
At the end of the room called "The Rift" ( i presume they are channeling magic or something here) i find this über cool thing.
I just got to check it out... but first i must check out the corridor that lies right behind me.
Before i leave ( i will go to the giant hole i promise) i took a screenshots of one of the boss locations.
I found 5 boss locations.
I entered a series of corridors ( with awesome wall art btw) and found this. Its just some kind of room where a teleporter is (its not included in the "real" game but the room is, but without the chairs).
Here is a screnshot of the area closer. Note that the big throne was called "Kel'Thuzad Throne Doodad 2" or something like that.
Also you can check out the new warcraft fire effects. They look pretty cool.
Here is a screenshot of one of the awesome wall arts i talked about in the corridors leading to that room.
They look much better when in the game, pretty much like everything in the instance. Everything is also (now i really mean everything) in the whole instance is animated and as kewl effects.
On the way to that gigantic hole i found lots of floating platforms like these. It looked pretty neat and there was some kind of magic channel in the big room.
Here it is with my lvl 80 druid in noob gear. Closer picture incomming.
Boss here and the huge giant titanic hole of death.
A small corridor to a really beutiful area with neat trees.
First thing i saw when i entered the area. Very nice trees similar to those in the sub-zone called "Crystalsong Forest".
Lets go inside and check it out.
Boss location incomming. According to my sources, a giant tree ( or "Ancient" ) is the supposed boss here.
Leaving the room i came to this place, similar to the second picture. Note that there is another boss here.
A blue arcane corridor leading to the last area on this trip.
The last room, but the end of it is more awesome.
The end of the last room i found. Note that up there is the location we were on in Picture 15.
Hope you enjoyed it.
Next time: Utgarde Keep. Two of the instance wings there. Utgarde Keep and Utgarde Pinnacle.
Its a Giant Vikings fortress that is huge.

For an intances with almost only 3 colors, white, blue and black, it got that aura of something special, I like it.

Most instances are very gray and have the same colors in WotLK.
I recently ran around in Utgarde Keep and Utgarde Pinnacle to take screenshots for the next two instances and everything is gray there. But it was still cool because im a big fan of Nordic mythology and there was lots of refrences to mytholigy ^^
Like Ships that works as graves, King Ymirs seat and the whole architcture of the place.
I will post both of them later this day ( its 10.27 in the morning in Sweden).
