Love is one of the best feelings you can ever have but also something that can hurt you more than anything. When you are older you will realise this. Trust me. I haven't been through a hell of a lot compared to most people but I've been through enough. Let me explain:
As most people know, I was recently in England for 2 years. The reason I went over there was primarily for a woman. I had met her on last.fm, we started chatting and everything seemed to just happen from there. She came to Australia and stayed with me and my family for 2 months and after that I saved up all the money I could to go and move over there to be with her which is exactly what I did.
We lasted for about 2 and a half years. Everything seemed fine, at least from my end, but she was getting more and more depressed as time went on. She states it was for multiple reasons but I think one of the main ones was that she didn't have a job therefore she was never going out unless I took her out and as I was the main one providing for the both of us, that wasn't very often as I was trying to work my backside off all the time. I just was never feeling up to going out especially after doing 12 hours shifts a lot. This got to her.
Anyway, it all came to a head 2 days after boxing day 2012. She broke up with me. I felt like my entire world had just been crushed. I went from being content without being overly happy to being one of the most miserable, angry people I have ever seen. I just hated everything and I took out all my anger on everybody, especially people at work.
That is one of the hardest things about love. When you're with somebody, it might be the best feeling in the world but as soon as you break up with them or they break up with you, your whole world can come tumbling down. That's the risk you have to take and you can never go into a relationship without having that in the back of your mind otherwise you will always be set up to be hurt in the end if it doesn't work out.
The best thing you can do if it doesn't work is to stay busy. Always stay busy. Whether that's doing manual work like building something or even going for a walk or seeing mates, you just need to keep your mind busy and away from thinking about everything. It's inevitably that you will but if you do keep yourself busy the thoughts will lessen and you will move on eventually.
My point is, regardless of what a lot may say, love is worth it if you find the right person. The only problem is actually trying to find the right person. You're still young though so don't lose hope just yet. If I can come back the better person at the end of what I had to go through then I'm sure you'll fare a lot better than I did.
It's worth it when it works, trust me.

You're only 19 so keep your chin up mate. The best thing you can do for yourself as a person is to not think about it. The more you expect something to happen, the less likely it will. If you just go about your business as usual such as working, seeing mates, sport (if you play it) then it will just eventually happen. The more you look for it though, the more likely you are to set yourself up for failure.
Trust me when I say this, you will find somebody who will make you the happiest you have ever been. Just don't go looking for it. It will find you.
