Nothing wrong with knowing it. Just as long as you don't get addicted.

Knowledge can sometimes hurt you and it hurts you more than it learns you something.

Why should I know the dark secrets of my family? What purpose does it suit that my mother remembers her childhood in the orphanage such that it gives her depressions and insomnia? Why in the name of all that is holy should I remember how sweet something is that I can't have anymore or how bitter something used to be that the mere thought can make shiver/ flinch?

So you can know. Knowledge of reality does not change reality.

Well, to you, is it possible that the benfits of not knowing certain things outweighs the benefits of knowing? Reality doesn't change, except the one in the mind. I believe that the world doesn't need unicorns or flowers or that all the misery in it should be frgotten, but wouldn't it be better to be spared from vivid memories of terrible ordeals that will become emotional baggage?

Not that I'm emotionally scared because of past event. (only scratched some wounds that were already there )

Of course it's better to know all kinds of stuff... that's what life is about. Not about living a sheltered, comfortable amoeba-like existence. The "see no evil, speak no evil, hear no evil" approach just fails people over and over.

Lol, sorry for the off-topic.

Anyways, isn't happiness just that Doom?
I mean, you become happy, then you've found your place in the circle of life.

There is a good and a bad time to learn things. You can argue that the sooner the better but sometimes too early you are caught vulnerable and it can hurt you more.

and why would you like to know something which makes you suffer?

Either to make the best of a given situation or avoid it entirely.

Also, no high hopes + decent awareness = no disappointment.

One day, you'll have to make your own place and accept that there originally was no place for you.

Life is tough! But once you made your own place, you can be proud and call yourself a man! I think it's something Rudyard Kipling would say (which I might agree with).

Well I quoted Lion King Quite a lovely piece of animation. And pretty wise, too. People are often trying to be something they are not... Worse, they think it's the only way.

What's wrong with that?

Nothing is set in stone. Like they say in a knight's tale: it's possible to change your own stars!

Or something like that, I wasn't paying attention

Because it brings happiness to "find your place".

Doesn't of course mean the place is set in stone..
