The bug is surely more in a NCF you have and the map have too than directly from the map.
Can you give me a link to the map, please, I want to load it myself.
You can too re-download NCF from link of the main list to get a up-to-date. Some bugs about Editor can be repair like it.

No,
only the NCF 3.1 framework opens the creature slots (number) above of these of original ones (180)
you can make a NCF creature but never you will be able to use it without the framework.

im only now understand what is the ncf project and what he gave
(2 long years withuot it )now i want to try him and it didn't work!
i'v downloaded the files:
New Creatures Framework 3.1
Nelgirith Creatures
and placed them as ordered:
H5_Game.NCF - my game folder/bin
H5_MapEditor.NCF - my game folder/bin
NCF__Core (pack file) - my game folder/data
now when i try to enter the game by clicking on "H5_Game.NCF"
i get the next error:
" This application failed to start because um.dll was not found.
re-installing the application may fix this problem "
what i did wrong? what can be the problem? and how i make it work?

Hello, I'm sorry you have this bug but I think that has not a link with NCF project.
all I know is « um.dll » is a library must have to be in bin folder of the game.

Random vista question: When I run TOE or the TOE editor with the NCF executable I'm getting a crash on random map generation(either using a template from RTMG, using a default template, or no template at all. Anyone have any experience getting this to work on vista? Thanks
Edit: I installed the mega pack and NCF_core into the data dir as well.

Try with SimonaKs RMG. Or its the one you're using? If yes, just ask him. If no, well just try it.

This was in the inbetween step for using his program(where you feed the template to the h5 built in random map generator). I've figured out a fix that usually works(crashes about 1/3rd of the time or so). If you generate the map in the non-NCF'ed map editor, it seems to work(and since his program is the one adding the ncf creatures, you still get them).

The generation of a random map into Heroes V can just be done with the original exes.
RMG's H5 from NCF exes doesn't simply work and never worked. That is known since beginning.
RMG's H5 is not able to add NCFs.
So we must use original exe for creating and NCF exe for playing when NCF Framework is installed.
Following template creation, RTMG calls original Game exe to allow the user to create the map.
later once the RTMG map generated, RTMG will call NCF Game exe (if at least one NCF was imported) to
play in the map.
for RTMG, Editor and NCF Editor are used to open, edit and save but not to generate.
moreover RTMG never been tested on Vista.

Ah, wasn't clear to me from what I read that I should have been using the original h5 executable(s) for generating the map. I'd suggest an an update somewhere (the manual?) making that more explicit. However, barring the occasional crash(likely due to vista issues), it does seem to work, so thanks for the program .

yep that's true. I don't know why I didn't think to it.
I edited RTMG 1.5 master post to add the info.

summary
hello folks!
i just want to summarize now what i have to do, when i or somebody else use windows vista ( its the home premium edition in my case):
- I have to download the New Creatures Framework for TOE 3.1("Nelgirith Creatures" is not necessary because somebody wrote here that he downloaded it too)
- i put the files in the right folder like written before
(not in the homm5 original folder but in the bin and data folder of ToTE)
- before all: of cause I have to install the patch 3.1 for ToTE
(- in my case i installed patch 1.6 for Original Homm5 too)
..if that is all right...what do i have to do next that it will work??
the creatures wont show up in a new game and the editor doesnt know
them as well...is it because i have Homm 5 collectors edition?
best regards, and congrats to the great mod!

editor problem
I cannot find any of the NCF creatures in the editor. I have windows XP, and I installed the NCF framework, NCF megapack, and RMTG. I modified a map with the RMTG, and the creatures it placed there show up fine in the editor, but I cant find any of them in the toolbar. I followed all of simonaks instructions (no other mods, all ncf files in data as .pak, etc), and tried his suggestions, but it didnt help

ok....
back to the NCF megapack thread and look for the step 2
Quote: 2 - Download the Installation tool by TSoD (6mg) allowing to you to install the desired language, icons and others options.
you will get NCF stuff from the editor with that.
