The Addiction Clinic
I'm sure that many of us are or have gotten addicted by something. Right now, I am addicted to the computer and I have been like this for a few years now. For me, it seems that I go from one thing to another and I only focus on that one thing. I used to play games all the time and then I switched to browsing the Internet which is what I primarily do most of the time.
I know that it is not healthy for me to be like this but I honestly have no idea how to actually stop this. So that is why I decided to create this topic. If any of you have an addiction and perhaps need help on how to stop it or if you have advice about addictions or want to share some stories then feel free to do so here.

Life Addict right here.
But ehm... I'm not really (contiously)Žaddicted to anything I think. What'd you call addicted? I spent a lot of time in front of my pc but I'm not sure whether it's a addiction.

Hehe Azagal. Too bad I didn't see Lexxans thread. This thread is now redundant. Can a mod delete it?

Wanna know how to find out Azz? No matter I'll say it anyway.
Try staying out of the PC for a week while still having it. If you can't do it then your addicted.
As for will, just sell your PC or tape the screen or something. Then find something else to do all day. That something else will probably become a new addiction but hopefully it will be something more healthy.

Roleplaying. I don't even really notice it except when a campaign ends. Then I keep whining about how much I want another one. Also, my GM is moving away, so now I'll have to step up and do the work myself. And that's some pretty big shoes to fill, let me tell you.

I've been addicted to GFs. The therapy was (and still is) quite painful. It even forced me to create a dumb whinethread in the VWs
I'm addicted to my CPU, too. If im home not doing anything else (and I have lots of hobbies), I just HAVE to have it turned on, even if that means sitting in front of it and randomly browsing websites.

You mean your PC, not your CPU, right? Because the CPU is just the processor.

I am addicted to flirting, teasing, creating chaos, and being Mischevious. Not to mention the internet, pop (soda whatever you call it), and the Dom/sub lifestyle (trying real hard to get away from Dom/sub).

Well the CPU is a piece of hardware, just like a mouse or a keyboard. So technically, we are all using the CPU right now since the CPU is the heart or brains of the computer.

Actually the CPU is far more important because without CPU you can't have a computer, whereas a motherboard for example is useful, you can "build" a specific computer without one (though it'll be VERY limited) and only cache memory in the CPU (no RAM), and no visual output, but still, you can have some kind of analysis output (not on monitors mind you, because there you'll need a video card). And of course some kind of BIOS integrated in the CPU cache or something.
The CPU is the thing that allows "software" to exist

And at least it's something different from the usual stuff like Religion etc.
Maybe we should open a thread about computers, TheDeath? There is a lot to talk about.
