Poll Question: The All In One Heroes
A little hello to you all, Turn Based Maniacs. I will, If I may, ask for a moment of your time. A short one.
Long ago, I used to be a regular here. I would taste the incredible amount of info, joint the wild fights, throw a spam here and there… you now, the usual stuff.
But, due to certain RL issues, I had to quit. I hated it, because HC was one of THOSE places I enjoyed the most. The fact that I didn’t post does not mean I didn’t troll. Hell, I have been here for as long as I can remember. And now, I have something to ask of you, my fellow players – just a little question that requires a click, and maybe a short post.
We are talking Heroes here. From the beginning to the end. And I want to know which one pleases you more, old school stuff, new school stufff.... give me some info, please. Sooooooo......
Which Heroes?:

Welcome back! Remember me?
Anyway, I'd rank them like this: WoG>H2>H5>H4>H1>H3. Never played King's Bounty. But since WoG isn't on the list, I voted H3, since WoG is technically part of it. But the ideal HoMM would have:
H3's towns and gameplay speed
H4's heroes in combat and advanced classes
H2's art style and general feel
WoG's huge amount of customizability and content
H5's ability system and everything else.

If I lurked, then how'd I be a Legendary Hero? And few would understand your custom status these days.

Personally, i find Heroes 3 to be the best. Ive played the demo for Heroes 2, and I have to say its a good game but the lack of balance between towns and the lack of hero uniqueness really killed it.

H3>H2>WoG>H4>H5>H1
Now all are gonna start bashing me about setting H4 higher than H5 and for them I only got one thing to say, speed.
EDIT: Oh and for those wondering why WoG is so low that's because WoG has somethings messed up, death ripple works for golems etc.

Trust me, you are not the only one who places H5 that low. If there would be a lower spot than last place, i would put H5 there. But then again, it is a matter of personal taste.

If it wasn't its multiplayer instability WOG would be thousand light years away from all others. For single adventure it will never be reach by HoMM4-5.
People are confused and think that WOG is a game or a sequel or a mod. It is only a HoMM3 tool. If you start the game with all options unchecked you will play a pure HoMM3 game. Only the map creator can show and use its unimaginable powers and diversity. People found that random maps sucks until someone understood how to create a valuable template. Then everybody ran and enjoyed them. That is all about WOG, it is the tool to make a perfect "template". And thats why WoG will always have to be in the first place.
Most people think that this tool is overpowered by nasty/amateurish features but they just didn't play or analyse it. Do not forget that a scenario creator will always disable ALL wog options and put his own and customized ones. Do you understand what that means? And what tremendous power it has?
In its initial form WOG is pure HoMM3 with nothing more/less. It is the mapmaker who starts to add customized event related models, and EVERYTHING is possible, from changing creatures stats, dynamic events and dialogues with amazing issues, and an unlimited replayability and deep immersion.
WOG owns all because it was made for players enjoyment and not for money issues. It shows that the fertile imagination of addicted and talented fans will never be equalized by any "professional" game sellers. And it makes HoMM3 original game look as a BETA.

3, 2, 5, 4, 1. Not played KB.
3 rules.
2 was the 1st one I played, fond memories.
5 would be higher if it wasn't for the endless AI turn wait on large maps.
4 I didn't like the heroes in combat although stealth and attack skills could make an army of 7 heroes you can't see that stun and can't be retaliated against.
1 Didn't play until it looked too dated.
KB The original or the remake? Never played either.

Unlike most here I got to know the series through homm 5 and played the others later and the thing is...
H5 has this accessability the others don't have... I can't put my finger on it, but I grew familiar with H5 and all the others, though they may have greater attributes, didn't work for me and that's why I like H5 better, perhaps sad to say, but it is true. I never finished the campaigns in H4 or the first mission, even. H1 and H2 are very limited and tend to bore. H3 got me going for awhile, but the skills system and the towns were still something I couldn't grow familiar with, same with the combat.
