Warcraft Lore Summary (beginning -> wotlk)

Hi, here is a short summary of the Warcraft lore. I want to prove that WoW also as an epic storyline - especially in WotLK.
So here it begins, from the very begining to the what we know in Wrath of the Lich King.

The Titans & Sargeras
There is a very powerful race called the Titans, these huge creatures help shape and order worlds - and have always done so.
Mortal races see them as gods and they are responsible for the birth of many races - and the destruction of many.

The Titans had many leaders (the highest ranked leader beign Aman'thul the Highfather) and these leaders were a part of the group called the Pantheon.
The champion of the Pantheon - the Titan Sargeras, fought for them and defended the Titans and the universe against many evil creatures for a long time.

But once upon a time, Sargeras meet a race that called themself the Nathrezim. The Nathrezim were an very evil and powerful race.
These "true demons" could devaste entire planets, corrupting and turning whole nations against each other.

Sargeras quickly vanquished them and imprisoned them, but how a race could be so evil troubled him deeply and made him vurnuble to their mind corruption.
Soon Sargeras fell and didnt people in the Titans massive "Ordering of the Universe" campaign anymore.
And in his fury, the Fallen Titan destroyed and freed the Nathrezim. The Nathrezim were impressed by such powers, and joined Sargeras in his own new campaign - known as the Burning Crusade.

Sargeras gave birth to the Burning Legion and corrupted and many worlds, the world of Argus beign one of the first (more about Argus much later).
Sargeras thought the universe was meant to be in chaos, like it had been in its birth and seeked to undo the Titans work, and he has been very successful - untill he meet the world of Azeroth...

Azeroth
Azeroth is the planet which in most of the Warcraft story takes place in. It started as a chaotic world, with only Elementals and ancient primal and feral beasts roaming at it.
But then the Titans came and began to order the world. They sealed the Elements into an alternate plane and begun their work.
They created life from earth and was impressed by one gigantic beast called Galagrond - the father of the Proto-Dragons.
The Titans created five grand Dragons aspects from Galagrond, and gave them each one think to watch over and protect.
These were the dragon aspects...

Alexstraza the Lifebinder - Protector of Life, Queen of the Dragons.
Neltharion the Earthwarder - Protector of Earth
Ysera the Dreamer - Protectior of Nature
Nozdormu the Timeless One - Protector of Time
Malygos - Protector of Magic

Each of these aspects also got their own dragonflight.
Alexstraza became the leader of the Red Dragonflight, Neltharion of the Black Dragonflight, Ysera of the Green Dragonflight, Nozdormu of the Bronze Dragonflight and Malygos of the Blue Dragonflight.

The aspects and their dragonflights would be the guardians of Azeroth. The titans created a well of enormous power
The Titans made many constructions and soon when the ordering was complete in there opinion, they left.
But a long time after they had left a parasitic race came to infest Azeroth - only called the Old Gods.

The Old Gods corrupted Azeroth with the "Curse of Flesh" and so Giants turned into Vrykul, Earthen into Dwarves etc.
The creatures of Azeroth were basically infected with flesh and soon the Titans returned...
But the Old Gods were powerful and only one could be defeated. The rest of them were imprisoned deep under the surface of Azeroth.
And so the Titans left again - unable to do anything about the "Curse of Flesh".

The War of the Ancients
Azeroth was also unique in having a lake filled with massive powers, drained from the cosmic energies of the Twisting Nether.
The Well helped many races develop, many Trolls became Night Elves and many Furbolgs became Pandaren etc.
Another race, the Azj'aqir - was also born from the Well.
The Insectoid race called the Azji'aqir made a massive empire and before the Night Elf existed they battled with the strong Amani and Gurubashi troll empires.

Later when the Night Elves came to existence, the Trolls fighted them too and many Trolls were jealous of their magical powers.

Anyway the Night Elves who lived around the Well of Eternity used its amazing power to create a great empire and soon they used its magic so much that the Dragons themself had to warn them about using it to much, because there are rules of the Arcane.
Arcane is powerful, dangerous, addicting and corrupting.
The lower class of the Night Elf society was not really addicted with magic so they instead started using the worlds natural energies and practised Druidism.

But the upper-class, the Highbourne, were already corrupted and addicted by the Arcane and with their reckless use of magic - they sent out echoes out in the Twisting Nether - attracting the Burning Legion to attack Azeroth.

The Legion could not enter Azeroth very easly and Sargeras managed to contact the leader of the Night Elves - Queen Azshara.
Aszhara became tricked, a thought Sargeras was god.
She even wanted to get married with him and said things like:
"What is Elune to the great Sargeras?".

Elune was the Night Elves adored godess.
Anyway, Sargeras managed to trick Azshara to open a portal through the Well of Eternity so he could enter Azeroth.
Soon the Burning Legion invaded Azeroth and the War of the Ancients started.

The races of Azeroth banded together and many demigods died during the war. The corrupted Eredar rained fire from the sky, Infernals crashed in the cities, Doomguards killed anyone in their way and swarms of Felhounds wandered the countryside.

The Dragons helped, but the Old Gods had awakened from their slumber and managed to corrupt Neltharion the Earthwarder.
Neltharion heard dark whisperings from the Old Gods and lured the Dragon Aspects to create an powerful artifact - the Demon Soul.
The other dragons thought the Demon Soul (back then called the Dragon Soul) was a weapon against the demons but it was not...

In the final battle against Queen Azshara, the Highbourne and the Burning Legion the Night Elves, the Dragons and their huge amounts of allies seemed to win untill Neltharion finally performed his grand betrayal.

Driven mad by the Old Gods, Neltharion feel one last tear before becomming completly insane. The Tear became a crystal of great power.
Anyway Neltharion then used the Demon Soul in the middle of the battle to destroy the Night Elves and the other Aspects.
The damage he did was huge but the attack was not successful - the Aspects managed to chase him away.
From this day Neltharion was no longer the Earthwarder.
Now he was...

Deathwing the Destroyer

Anyway the War of the Ancients was won but with great sacrifices. Several races totally died out during the long war and demigods fell. But the largest cost was the land itself.
The Night Elf Druid Malfurion Stormrage used the powers of the Well of Eternity and sundered the world - splitting it in half and a huge sea left in the middle of it.
As the Highbourne were devoured by the sea, Queen Azhara created a magical bubble around her - protecting her from death.
Then Azhara heard a dark voice in her head - the voice of the Old Gods. She made a pact with them and the Highbourne were mutated into the vile Naga.

In the aftermath the Night Elves retreated to the woods and left no signs. The dark forests became there silent home and they swore to never use arcane magic again - and today arcane magic is stricktly forbidden still.

As I told  you, Malfurion Stormrage was one of the heroes in the war but as this is a story I didnt tell you everything (the War of the Ancients is a IRL Warcraft book trilogy) but his brother, Illidan Stormrage (who had sacrificed his eyes to Sargeras and became a spy) took some water of the orginal Well of Eternity before the Great Sundering and created a new one.
In addition, the Dragon Aspects grew a World Tree that gained the Night Elves better access to the Emerald Dream (a dimension to Azeroth) and they became immortal etc.

Anyway when Illidan made a new well (he took seven vials of the water - some of which he keeps untill the TBC expansion in WoW) some Night Elf saw this and Illidan was sent to prison - for all eternity.

The Draenei, the Naaru, Draenor and the Rise of the Horde

Long before the War of the Ancients, there was a peaceful race called the Eredar living on the planet of Argus.
Argus was a beutiful world and the Eredar were highly intellignet. The Eredar were masters of the arcane and just as the Highbourne their use of arcane magic sent out echoes into the Twisiting Nether - attracting the Burning Legion to destroy Argus.

Sargeras whispered the leaders of the Eredar - Velen, Archimonde and Kil'Jaedan - promises of great power and understanding of the universe if they joined his Legion.
Velen however was a powerful prophet and saw that if they joined Sargeras legions - it would only lead to the end of the Eredar race.

Kil'Jaedan and Archimonde accepted Sargeras offer but Velen and a small group of Eredar did not.
For this, Velen and his eredar where hunted and hated by the other Eredar. They almost got killed untill a strange species, made of pure light, came to rescue them.

These manifestions of Light were called the Naaru and they helped the fleeing Eredar by giving them a vessel which would allow them to travel through the universe.

Velen and his Eredar renamed themself the Draenei, meaning the "Exiled Ones" in their ancient tongue.
Velen and the Draenei now followed the ways of the Light but for every single planet they landed on - the Burning Legion found them and destroyed the planet.

But one day they found a planet that was home to several species including the shamanstic Orcs and the brute Ogre. But the best thing about this planet was that the Legion could not find them.

Over time, the Draenei evolved into new shapes and became strong allies with the Orcs. They traded each others culture, and over time some of the Draenei learnt shamanism - although they were few and looked down on because they didnt embrace the Light as much as others and seemed to prefer the chaotic elementals over them.

They named this planet "Draenor", meaning "Exile's Refuge" in their language and the space vessel they landed with became a part of Orc legends. By the Orcs it became called Oshu'gun, meaning "Mountain of Spirits".
Oshu'gun looked like a huge white mountain made of diamonds and dead spirits seemed to be devoured by it slowly.

However, in the end Kil'jaedan (who had become mutated to a demon along with the other eredar, they are refered as "Man'ari Eredar" - Kil'Jaedan and become "The Deceiver" and one the highest ranked leaders of the Burning Legion) found Draenor and begun to communicate with the Orc leaders.

The Orcs, thinking that Kil'Jaedan was a great elemental spirit. Kil'Jaedan found a suiting Orc shaman called Gul'dan who could help him corrupt the Orcs into becomming a very powerful army serving the Legion.
This army could be used to wipe out the Draenei for the Legion and maybe even to attack the world of Azeroth - the only world that had survived Sargeras and the Demons wrath.

Soon, Gul'dan was converted into a Warlock and he formed the Shadow Council - a group of warlocks and demon worshippers who served the Legion.
Kil'Jaedan also teached them Necromancy and many other dark arts.

Anyway, as the Orcs where manipulated and the fel energy caused by all the Warlocks grew - their skin color changed from brown to green and their eyes from blue to red.

Soon the Orcs served the Legion and Kil'Jaedans project was complete. The Orcish armies were known as the Horde and they slaugthered over 80% of the Draeneis population.
The Draenei saw their children be killed and raped by their former allies and their villages burned.

The remaining Draenei managed to hid in the dark swamps of Zangarmarsh where they remained for a long time...

However much later, when the Illidari came to Outland and the Blood Elves captured a Naaru vessel in the area known as the Netherstorm on Draenor/Outland - the Draenei came out of hiding and hijacked a Naaru vessel called the Exodar.
With the Exodar the Draenei managed to flee, but there was some Blood Elves left on the Exodar which caused them to crash on the planet of Azeroth, two months before the Burning Crusade would begin...

The First War
COMMING SOON

This was the first part of my short summary.
Yes, its long but the Warcraft lore is 100.000 bigger then what I tell you here. For example the War of the Ancients its a trilogy of books you can read in real life and there were lots of stuff I didnt included (Deathwing/Neltharion slaying the entire Blue Dragonflight, putting Malgyos in a deep depression state etc).

Next part we will cover Warcraft 1-3 (the first & second war, the return of the demons etc) and then the last part will be about the storyline in WoW (the missing king of Stormwind and all that drama, the comming of Kil'Jaedan and the betrayal of the Forsaken etc).

WOW!!! OK I'll make the short version:
One guy sees other guys. Guy thinks that the guys are lonely and brings other guys. The guys and other guys starts killing each other. Then OTHER guys come and save the "world" from guys and other guys. Then dead guys come and the guy tells the guys, other guys and the OTHER guys that the dead guys are evil and the guys, other guys and OTHER guys kills them.

THEN there's plenty of minor sidestories and characters, but this is the summary of the world history of warcraft

EDIT: Oh and wow just repeats stuff that have already happend in other wc things, in the wrong order and/or at the same time and/or wrong places.
