Shove it down my throat

So anyways, recently, I came up with something:

is healthy food really important? I mean, really?

Should I be feeling guilty when I'm deep-throating a hot dog with the wrapper of my fifth chocolate bar lying next to me and my two liters of soda pop? Should I doubt the quality of fast food, like o, say, mcdonald's? Should I become insanely paranoid about aspartane?

I say no to a lot of things, since it might instill some small fear that in the end will cripple me somehow (it already did, though ). So, when I am tearing apart a huge, bloody, grease-dripping steak, is a vegan entitled to comment about my life style? I already don't take drugs of any kind (I even count alcohol as some very light drug).

opinions about food, please! (I am Flemish (also 'bourgeois' as it might be called) so it's normal to have such a fascination with food)

NOTE: I never ever ever count carbs in my food or even partly care (since I've been blessed with a divine metabolism)

...

How dare you name a thread into something like this? There are people with sick imagination out there! (Like me!)

Anyway, I've never cared about what I'm eating really, the only thing I've been keeping my eye on is aspartam and super-energy drinks.

I pretty sure I'll never become fat though, I simply don't have such genes. I'm probably really fat on the inside though...

Let's not take it too far. The healthy way is to generally avoid certain types of food, however nobody tells you not to eat them at all. I mean what's the point? There are times you simply want to eat something tasty and not really care if it's healthy or not. Now if you also have a good metabolism you are lucky Your life is to enjoy it as you see fit and eating is one of its little pleasures.

The idea is to keep everything in moderation so that you won't have to drool when you see someone consuming a pizza or a hamburger but on the other hand not become a slave to your belly. I remember a woman that kept drinking I don't know how many litres of coke per day for several years until she got ill and sued the company. My thoughts were how could someone be so stupid with their diet and then put the blame on the company? Gluttony is one of the seven deadly sins

Btw what's that about a vegan commenting on your diet, have you seen this happen? Personally I find eating just greens equally wrong, they may good for you but you miss on other things. Maybe I'm a bit spoiled

A belgian comedian said: "I know a few friends who are vegetarian and when they see me eat a steak they usually say: 'look it's bleeding, why did it have to die?' and then I usually say: 'because you ate it's food!'"

I have respect for vegetarans and unhealthy people alike, since they eat what they want to eat and in the end I can even respect anorexics as long as they don't judge my styl of eating.

I can understand that it's important to eat in variety off course, so that you can claim in the end that you have actually "lived"

I saw some hypnotist a while ago, I think his name was Paul Mckenna or something, he had this show where he showed fat people how to slim down by simply listening to their bodies.

According to him, the reason why they ate so much was simply because they had learned to ignore the fact that their bodies had have enough already.

His main philosophy with the slim-down thing was to "eat whatever you want, but listen to your body and don't eat too much."

Although he's a hypnostist, he really didn't hypnotise anyone, he just taught them simple exercises to avoid eating too much.

First of all, I'd like to gleefully acknowledge your successful attempt of making every member who reads the thread feel like a total pervert for misunderstanding the title.

Now.
I live in an area with an abundance of good but heavy food. And I consider myself blessed for it.
See, a man's organism requests as much food as it needs. Unless you really go too far and disregard it when your body signals you to stop eating, and refuse to do any exercise, physical activity or anything similar, sure, it can be harmful. It can not only get you fat but also cause severe malfunction of some organs.
But you can enjoy yourself all you want, as long as you don't overdo it. You don't even need too much activity. I'm not much of a sportsman, I exercise very rarely and it's mostly in my gym classes or something. And I eat what I want, whenever I want to, in quite large quantities But I'm far from being fat or unhealthy in that sense. On the contrary, I'm one sexy mother****er
Just kidding.
Or am I?

The way I see it, we humans are omnivores. We need to eat both meat and greens. Specializing yourself for eating plants is pretty much like eating only meat - it just doesn't feel right.
Plants are as alive as animals, and eating meat is probably one of the most natural things in the world, so I don't have any moral problems on that matter. And I'm one of the most treehugging hippies I know, so if I don't have moral problems with meat, probably no one should.

Paranoia about how much calories or whatever you shove down your throat (once again, a jolly fun title ) is not only pointless but also dangerous for the psyche. Of course, fast food isn't too healthy either, but it can taste bloody good and you just need to balance it out with some physical activity. If you're obsessed with food, you can maybe get a little fatter, but not necessarily - look at Jamie Oliver for example.

Again, it all comes down to being moderate and rational, like people already noted.

As Mr T put it, "Drink milk an' eat yo' greens!"
