Can't you just read the review and make your own mind rather than following the score like a sheep? (no offense)

That's funny. If a site gave it a low score, you'd probably praise the site for seeing through whatever.
Have you given the game a shot, Forge?

I had read it lol. Beides, I don't think the author would give it a high note if he described it just bad.

Yeah. It's not the Final Fantasy series.

Where do you see that?
Edit: Do you mean the Bethesda Fallout forums? Because it's pretty mixed reviews there.

The NMA Fallout 3 forum indicates that it will contain spoilers. I'm trying to avoid spoilers.
I'm going to stick with my original plan which is to buy Fallout 3, but next year when it is 1/5th the current price.

You could just rent it for $7 bucks and beat it. That's what I did with Fable 2.

So the fans are disappointed. Big deal. Fan communities tend to be impossible-to-please crowds. No Mutants Allowed is a particularly well known example of this fenomenon. Also, see the official MtG boards.

actually official forums tend to be filled with more critics while fan based forums on average tend to be more lax...
you should've been to the C&C3 forums just after kanes wrath came out... people posted flaming rants there and i had to explain to somebody about why the customer is not always right and that developers need creative freedom.

Fans =/= fanboys
and I didn't mean fanboys. There is a lot of constructive criticism at NMA. Nobody cares for fanboys' pointless flame.

I think I'll get this game. I wonder if it has many similarities with deus ex...

Sorry, but this game should never reach that score.
from what I read, FF fans were very disappointing by FF12, and were very harsh in their judgement. I have it, and even if it's not perfect, it's obviously a very good game. many fans seem to be very conservative, they can't stand any slight change in their games.

I am a FF fan and I've been extremely disappointed by FFXII, too. I think FF XII got a poor reception for a reason.
Same with Fallout 3, which is for many reasons worse than its predecessors. Crap Power Armors, no serious small/big weaponry (best small gun being combat shotgun is pathetic), no real rewards for exploring.. nah. Stinks.

from what I read, the 1st thing which disappointed most people was the scenario. I'm not used to uber complex scenarii in video games (except deus ex, MGS2 and 3 (the end of MGS2 is very hard to understand btw ))so it didn't really bothered me.
another things which disappointed people was the combat system. I haven't played many RPGs, but it's my favorite system. combat in real time on the adventure map. turn by turn isn't bad but seems slower, which is quite boring when you don't have much strategic opportunities, or face very weak enemies. I also played the demo of eternal sonata, and it seems to have a quite fun system, kind of a mix between the FF12 system, and the more classical one.
my main complaint about the game is about random loots / treasures. actually, it's not the fact it is random which is the most annoying (even if having 1/1000 chance to get the strongest weapon is very cheap, especially when it's already well hidden in one of the most dangerous dungeon) but the fact some probability are very low. 10% is already low enough I think...

I really think that some Fallout fans are so Hell-bent on hating the game, they aren't looking at it objectively. They state it isn't a true Fallout game and it's Oblivion with guns; so what? It's still fun and it's still canon. I've played every game in the series and I believe it's a fine entry, especially after Brotherhood of Steel.
