A bit too many factions to my taste I must admit.

Except of making an Inferno and then a half Inferno through the Orcs, I think that creatures don't really repeat themselves, and this can also fit very well with the story we have here, which is the strongest part in this thread. If I were Snatch, I would send an e-mail to Nival with it or something.

And what's with the three undead factions? Not to mention the two Haven factions and (at least) two pseudo-Dungeon factions. But maybe I'm just too oldfashioned.

Yes, he has too many Necros. Insert some of his creatures in your 12-factions system and you can get the perfect proposal.

First: Thank you for your comments!
hmmm, I guess I know what you mean with the three undead factions... but I could not sense to put Undead together with another faction - alone the necromancy skill would be a problem (or so I think) - not to speak of the moral...And I tried to vary the Undead units as much as possible, yet I don't know if I succeeded. An alternative that just occured in my mind, could be mixing up the undead with the Lizardman...but storyline could be strange then^^
And GenieLord, I do not really understand what you mean by "making an Inferno and then a half Inferno through the Orcs"...I thought I made two half-Infernos, one at the demonic orcs and one at the Black Guild, with two different story-attempts (but I hadn't added the backgrounds I had in my head, so...)
But it's just a suggestion, as I said, and I chose a more-faction-version on purpose, you could say as a counterpart to the others . At last I'm a much-faction lover somehow XD

Why don't the whole forum respectively an admin or a mod send an e-mail to Nival? Including summarizations of the most well-received concepts and proposals. We can't command Nival anything but we can give some clues to them in what possible directions the fan community wants HoMM6 to go.

I don't support the petitions, personally. I have yet to see a suggestion that represents the wishes of the whole forum. It's a subject on which we're divided, and I think bringing one thing forward as what the fans want is pretentious.
Besides that, I don't think it's worth the trouble anyway. All previous examples of such petitions have proven to be way too late compared to the onset of the development phases in which they would be relevant. I don't know anything, but my guess is the developers already have a pretty tight idea of how they want H6 to be if there's on in the making.

I think the faction system is very interesting but the story is a bit "meh...".
The earthquake/flood/explosion/apocalypse idea that starts HoMM6 is VERY COMMON.
So common that even my own HoMM6 starts with earthquakes, floods and explosions

See? You didn't have a more creative or unique idea to explain changes also. It's simply a classic.

I know, I just though it was funny how everybody was like "OMG AN EARTHQUAKE, THAT IS SO AWESOME!!! OMG OMG" when the concept has been used so many times ;P

Nice Idea, really nice,,, the only thing I would think is that it can not start off with four races expanding out that big, maybe after expansions but not right away.
I say you need to narrow it down just to three races. The three races with then expand out to say 9 factions which is OK with me. I think each monster should have its own upgrade. Upgrades are needed as they add needed elements to gameplay while playing.

It adds one of the most important tactical options: Should you upgrade - i.e. specialize in one kind of creatures - or should you buy a lot of different dwellings - giving you more creatures, but less efficient in the short run.
Without upgrades, you can more or less just mindlessly develop your town.

I like it. It wouldn't be my first pick for Heroes 6, but it's still good. Some of the unit ideas seem a little forced (guards? monsters?) but all in all . . . nice idea.

Very interesting and creative idea here. My only issue is with the breaking of some base HoMM traditions. Black Dragon + Warlock = BEST FRIENDS FOREVER DAMNIT

Heroes 2 did a good job, alternativ and 2nd upgrade should only be on fitting units. Upgrade should also only be on units with a logical possibilety.

100% Agreed. For some units it makes sense to have upgrades, for others it does not. Zombies do not need upgrades, for example.
I try to use a more free system like that, where units either have no upgrade, one upgrade, two upgrades, or an alternative upgrade.

That's what I use in my other concept and my last ICTC entry too. Except that I don't use alternative upgrades yet. But some units have upgrades and some have not. And all upgrades change the tier of a unit resembling a real development. The thread is here somewhere.
But as you can see on my various ideas in this forum I'm very open-minded regarding the system of next HoMM.
