New magic school
Okay,we all know that there are 4 magic schools:Fire,Earth,Air and Water.How about a new one?check this out:Star magic!
<Level 1 spells>
Type:combat. cost:8 spell points duration:1 turn/2 power
Star Blaze:greatly increases the speed of the selected unit.when
the spell wears off,the unit will move slower than
ussualy,and will affect the hero's movement over land.
Basic effect:increases the selected unit's speed by 4 hexes/turn,target unit loses 3 speed after the spell wears off
Advanced effect:increases the selected unit's speed by 7 hexes/turn,target unit loses 2 speed after the spell wears off
Expert effect:increases the speed of all your units by 8 hexes/turn,all units lose 2 speed afterwards
Type:adventure. cost:2 duration:instant
View stars:reveals the location of all portals,boats and creature dwellings to the hero
Basic effect:reveals all portals to the hero
Advanced effect:reveals all the boats(unclaimed) and portals to the hero
Expert effect:reveals all the boats(claimed or unclaimed),portals and creature dwellings to the hero
Magic Arrow
Causes a bolt of magical energy to strike the selected unit.
Type: Combat. Cost: 5. Duration: Instant.
Basic Effect: Target, enemy troop receives ((Power x 10) + 10) damage.
Advanced Effect: Target, enemy troop receives ((Power x 10) + 20) damage.
Expert Effect: Target, enemy troop receives ((Power x 10) + 30) damage
<Level 2 spells>
Celestial Blast:causes a powerful energy blast to strike the selected unit,with a % chance to be casted twice
Type: Combat. Cost: 12. Duration: Instant.
Basic Effect: Target, enemy creature receives ((Power x 15) + 10) damage,15% chance to be casted twice
Advanced Effect: Target, enemy creature receives ((Power x 15) + 20) damage,25%chance to be casted twice
Expert Effect: Target, enemy creature receives ((Power x 15) + 50) damage,30% chance to be casted three times
Star Spy:shows an enemy hero's spellbook to the caster
Type: Adventure. Cost: 12. Duration: 1 Day
Basic effect:shows all of the enemy's lvl 1 and 2 spells to the caster
Advanced effect:shows all of the enemy's lvl 1,2,3 and 4 spells to the caster
Expert effect:shows all of the enemy's spells to the caster(cannot be learned)
Petrifying star ray:turns an enemy into stone,but increases its defense strenght greatly
Type:combat Cost:15 Duration:3 power/turn
Basic effect:enemy unit receives +15 defense strenght,but it cannot move,attack or retaliate and CAN be attacked,cured or dispelled
Advanced effect:Enemy unit recieves +15 defense strenght,but it cannot move,attack or retaliate and CAN be attacked,cured or dispelled
duration increases by +2 turns
Expert effect:enemy unit receives +12 defense strenght,but it cannot move,attack or retaliate and can be attacked.spell lasts +2 turns,and can only be dispelled with Expert cure or Expert Dispel
Banish:attempts to banish an enemy undead unit
Type:combat Cost:15 Duration:based on magic skill
Basic effect:an undead creature stack dissapears from the battlefield for 2 turns
Advanced effect:an undead creature stack dissapears from the battlefield for 4 turns
Exper effect:an undead creature stack dissapears from the battlefield for 5turns

The thing about earth, fire, water and air is that they're fundamental elements, in many cultures...on what did you base stars on?! Stars should basically be under the fire element. I don't see the logic in picking this as a magic school, it seems pretty random to me.

This is just pathetic .. no offense Metalpiss is right, and if there should ever be a new magic school it would probably be based on an element that too ... the last of the five would therefor probably be Aether.

Is it impossible to add new spells without replacing old ones? Or am I missing something here? If theres anyway to add a new magic school IMHO it should be named Arcane or smth like that.

Aether...isnt that soul or spirit or smth? Celtic druids uses soul as the fifth elemental force(or was it spirit i can't tell which)

1.: These spells suck. 2.: As far as i know there is no way to add new spells without replacing existing ones. So there you have it.

Banish is kinda interesting,but IMO it shuold affect demons,not undead. And the banished unit shouldnt disappear but turn ethereal(more work with creatures though)
