Tropico is a great sim. Knights of the old republic is an excellent RPG as well. If you want very realistic combat, I highly suggest Close Combat: A Bridge too far or Close Combat: The Russian Front. Age of Empires was a fun RTS with relatively low system requirements-though Rise of Nations far exceeds it. If nothing else, there's always Runescape-that free MMO half the internet flames everyday.
