A question about potions...
Are the spells in potions available also in mage guilds or are they unique? What magic school are they?

Since they will help the barbarians they should not be available in the mage guild, since they don't have one. I think they will be bought in the blacksmith (if I descifrated a screenshot corectly...)

Most of the effects from the potions are probably duplicated as spells. For instance the "Cure" potion is very likely also a Life Magic spell. Otherwise, the potions are not from any magic school in particular.
There just exists a number of different potions with various effect. I believe I've somewhere that there was about a dozen (give or take a few) different potions.

Well we know that at least one potion is resurrect, because one of the ways to revive a dead hero is to use a potion on him. They will probably be basic useful types of spells unless the blacksmith is upgradeable, like a mage guild, and you can get better potions with a bigger blacksmith.

I highly doubt potions come from any school.

Potions will be bought in Blacksmith, and that's certain. I don't know are they connected to some kind of a magic school, but I don't think so, mainly because potion are something you drink (or pour, ar whatever you want to do with it) without really thinking how it works. You only should know what it does, and how to use it.

Maybe
Well, the Potions are different colors, is this just for aesthetics, or does it mean different schools or levels? Or just differentiates between the different potions?

Yes because if each of the spells can be preformed from a potion, then what advantage will the wizard have over the barbarian?

Yeah
That sounds more realistic. I think you should change "Wizard" to "Sorcerer," though
Actually, that's probably not far from the truth; I think Barbarians are supposed to be the strongest beginning class Might Heroes, and Sorcerers are the strongest beggining class Magic Heroes.

Well, Jeff Blattner in his interview said that also the creatures will have the ability to use potions.
But recently Gus Smedstad said that that was unbalancing part of the game, so it was thrown out. Meaning that ONLY heroes can use potions.

I think (and hope) that there won't be such powerful potions like implosion.

I am just asking this because I can't remember it:
Is there an alchemy skill? Because if there is an alchemy skill, than you will probably be able to mix two potions and make a stronger potion, with a different and more powerful spell.

I myself don't know if there is an alchemy skill or not. I have not heard anything about this skill before, so I am guessing that it is not in the game, although I could be wronng. However, being able to mix potions with a certain hero could be a very cool adition to gameplay.

Agreed, but wouldn’t that make the game like a might and magic game?
