Hello, I am trying to generate a map using the Jebus template but it is always stuck at 10%, when it's generating zones. Am I doing something wrong?

u can't generate map using jebus on newest version of IRMG. Because we changed generating algorythm and jebus was made using older algo.

The simplest solution is to create a new jebus template by yourself..
jebus is one of the simplest templates imaginable and it was the most popular one during homm3 rmg times - the truth is it started out a joke template and it turned out to be the most popular one with time - funny and true
Here is the jebus explanation :

After some trial and error I've noticed that Jebus does seem to work for > tiny maps; it gets stuck only on tiny maps. However, I do have an issue with the town level starting at 11, I prefer to start from scratch.
That being said, are there any recommended templates out there? Should I then apply those templates to the in-game RMG, or apply it to IMRG?
Basically, my goal is just to have more randomness in map generation, because the in-game RMG always gives the same things like Level 1 and Level 2 creature dwellings.

There are very few templates for the IRMG because not enough people embraced it ,I suppose i made the template editor too complicated .
I wanted to outdo the template options for homm3 but in doing so made it too complex and probably caused too few people to use it.
Well a lesson learned there.
Apply it only to IRMG - you can't apply templates to the in-game RMG as far as i know .
IRMG is a standalone program and has nothing to do with the in-game RMG whatsoever - the in-game RMG is very much inferior the zones creation algorithm for example there is too simple giving practically same basic shape for maps every time its the stupidest thing a RMG who creates different maps who are such identical its boring to use it - I have no idea what were they thinking of but probably like when they rushed the releasing of the game with lots of bugs so did they rushed the creation of the rmg without enough thought into it.
Homm3 rmg for example was amazing and maybe the best rmg that will ever be,But i can only hope IRMG will someday get close to it.

What should I do then, if I don't want to spend time creating my own template?

Then use the templates given on sir_moz_hl last post (some templates are already inside the irmg program in the template directory) :
Quote: The Update again.
Latest version of IRMG - the same URL.
What changed:
1) added ability to generate maps for 3-4 players ( with allied option or without)
2) added ability to chain Town or mines generation with exact set chosen. This allow to make real Random templates
3) FIXED annoying bug with error during generation . Improved generating algorythm. But now u'd better to choose Zones compatibility factor = 1.5.!!!!
p.s. i made 30 maps with this new version - got 1 time error with unable to place portal.
HERE COMES NEW GREAT TEMPLATE - THE RAINBOW.
http://www.heroesleague.ru/public/homm5/IRMG/Rainbow.rar
the scheme:
http://www.heroesleague.ru/public/homm5/IRMG/rainbow.jpg
let me describe it abit :
each zone 2 could be two types : interlim zones or small resourses , ofc they differ from each other. interlim have more minor artis , small resourses - everything in name).
each zone type 3 could be three!!! types : good resourse zone, small tresury, zone with external town.
and zone named "Tp èëè Ã+ð" in 80% of maps will be GOOD tresury and in 20% it will be external town + rather good artis( not relics).
So as u can see , theis template could produce really different maps from each other and players will need to play really good to overwhelm on it!

Played a bit with IRMG and it is a really great tool ! Thanks a lot.
Can you please explain the 'Dwelling number to appear in zone' setting like 1-2. Is it 1-2 random level dwellings or one dwelling of level 2 or what ?

No. Feel free to make your own
Also, there is no problem in using smaller templates for large maps... apart from they take ages to explore. IRMG really does not need maps of huge size to be fun.

You gotta be kidding me, travelling 2 days just to get from one monster stack to another. This is why I prefer HOMM 3 much more, every turn there is something to do. Not having to walk for turns and turns just to do something.

Quote: Did you even try IRMG? Looks like you have no idea what you're talking about.
No I haven't and if no one is willing to explain or show how to get rmg to fill the gaps between monsters so there is more monsters to fight that are guarding something worth fighting for, noobs will never learn and this is why homm forums will die. Because its all 'ah you are a noob, go away' well funnily enough its the noobs that keep places like these alive.
I'm having enough problems with homm5 as it is, I guess it's not worth spending anymore time on, it has nothing but 'BUGS' written all over it.

In general old forum users got tired of seeing same questions over time thus the inappropriate reactions. It is not new-comers fault that the Heroes part in this forum is badly organized so a newbie can't find through search what he is looking for. I would say: tired of same questions: don't answer. But certainly not bash on them, we all had same questions some time ago.

IRMG, contrary to RTMG (what a misleading name) is a completely new, separate and standalone generator which creates maps with its own algorithms and stuffs them with unearthly amounts of objects and enemies. They seem chaotic, but are ridiculously funny to play. You will never run out of monsters and treasures here

Truly saying, it's completely new question prooving absolute ignorance and laziness. How could one ask a detailed question about something he has not even clue about?...
