how can i download homm II (or I) for windows?
i dont think you can still buy them...
Of course i mean legal

I don't think there are any legal ways of downloading them. You can try Ebay to see if somebody is selling a copy of the game.

If i will buy this:
-is this the game, the expansion or both?
-on CD stands -DOS/win95.. will I be able to play it on Windows XP?

It's HOMM2, the original one. You can play it on WinXP using compatibility mode, however, I haven't experienced any troubles while playing it without compatibility mode on.

I have downloaded it at Abandonia.com (its legal, i think)
and when I try to install it, it does nothing.
this was at the site:
IMPORTANT!!!!! In order for the game to run you must mount the ISO image using Daemon Tools. If you get an error the first time you start it, just restart and everything will be alright!
what does this mean?????
(ive downloaded DAEMON Tools Lite but how to use it)

If you haven't bought the game already then you can also look for HOMM2 Gold, which includes both the original game and the expansion pack.
