Well even if werewolf's are undead according to some mythologies (like ours), I still don't see them as undead. To me,creature that is undead has to be either a soulless corpse (skeleton is a typical example) or a soul without body (like ghost,wraith,specter). A creature that eats,sleeps and have normal body functions can't really be counted as undead...And what about weretiger,wererat etc. ? To me these creatures can be called shape-shifters and can be of any alignment. I always liked how werewolves are described in World Of Darkness, Werewolf - The Apocalypse
Now as for the vampires...Depends how you look at it,they too could be considered like alive. There hearts still beats,and they feed upon blood. I don't know if anyone saw "Vampire Hunter D" but there you see my definition of vampire.
In the end it comes down to personal opinion and taste. Maybe they should add new faction of undead, but they should work on current one because it has very good potential.
