"Ah, you're a church representative I see... Well, I'll just call you smarty pants and I see you're from the church of the silver flame." The spymaster said.

His eyes quickly investigated Bütlan and the other two. "I see that the other church member is here, is a more able warrior and that the man in the fine suit would be a nobleman. That makes it completely normal to safely disregard you."

"Now, gentlemen, my job would be a lot easier if you'd just cooperate. It also wouldn't be possible to report high treason as well..."

Luky woke up, realizing she was on horseback. Her head hurt, alot. What was going on around here? She asked the closest of her guards, and he responded: "After the party you fainted, after giving us our orders that is. You have had heavy fever and even halucinated and spoken in your sleep, we was worried for you milady Gefara. We are however still on the kings trail as you asked us, we have however no idea on how far ahead of us he with his party of followers."
Luky gazed a bit, curse the dam fever! She eventually fell asleep again and they moved on.

Ename acknowledges the Spymaster's identification of him as a combat-focused church member with a slight nod, silently wondering if he can gain the Spymaster's trust and reveal his true form without getting killed.

The spymaster tried to keep up as much respectability as he could. Though, it seemed to be a lost cause. "Alright, gentlemen, sit down, while I elaborate on this." he said. Jhiz and crucador immediately sat down. After a quick glare form the spymaster, Bütlan immediately sat down as well.

He laid out a large map over the entire table. In Esquirian handwriting, it said 'Merthocia' on the side. "Gentlemen, pay attention." he said, "We know Empiriana has a silent hold on Merthoc, but we don't know from where or how. It is your job to figure out who affiliates with Empiriana and who doesn't. Sounds easy enough doesn't it?" He pulled out an enveloppe. It was sealed with an Esquirian royal seal. "I have the names of the suspects. I will leave them with the person who looks most trustworthy... It's kinda sad that I entrust the nobleman than the two church members.." He said carefully.

"Anyone need a better uniform or weapon? Or are there any questions? If not, then you can take your leave." He said with a fortuitous smile.

King harold lifted his face. "Don't worry, brother, I have taken care of some of the unnecesary guests fr you." He heard behind him. He found this thought to be very reassuring. His mind was hazy, filled with fog. He tried to gather his thoughts, but failed... Where was he? Suddenly he saw the emblem of lord Fyr and three other passing knights and was reminded of the horrible danger that surrounded Mirth.

He got up again. Why is it so dark out? He let out a small sigh. He was aging...

"Knights of the realm!" He started, "Our nation is beset upon all sides. Our only choice is to find assistance from the only remaining friendly kingdom left in the vicinity, the nation of Esquire!" he had the cerowd's undivided attention now. Noone from Mirth affiliated with Esquirians, unless it was profitable. They were just strange with their impossible dialect and strange manners. How could friendship exist between them? "We have a lot of gold and other resources to bargain with, so the chances of using Esuirian Slayers against Empirian Steel Shields are very high. All we need is a good negotiator..." he said.

Who in the name of Silver peaks the Esquirean dialect among them? After all, they were all either Mirthian nobility or clergymen. "Lords and ladies, I present to you, sir Grannoeck, our diplomat from Esquire!" the king exclaimed with great joy. "Pardon me, sir, but I think his name was granook." a close advisor whispered. The king blushed a bit and corrected himself: "Humble apologies. I meant to say: sir Granook!" A very young man stood up. He showed a few mixed emotions which the king took for pride and joy for being able to serve the nation. "Also, I ask upon lady Luka and lord Viridian to aid in this most important task. You all most visit the High Lords of Esquire and persuade them into joining our fight. Also, this is not a request but a command."

Ximi bowed to the king. "It is an honour, my liege. We shall leave at once, provided that it suits the others." he said and backed away from the king. Ximi understood that one of his companions was the silver hairde man with whom he had been talking to earlier. The other one's name he didn't even recognise.

~Thinks he can command me~

"Erm.  Yes.  Well... absolutely, my liege lord," proclaims Viridian, begrudgingly, as much to appease the crowd as the king.  Turning his attention to the problem and thinking it over for a second, he decides it'd be nice to return to the homeland and tie up a few loose ends.

But with this rabble... well, at least the minstrel would be coming.

With a sudden burst of newfound resolve, unbecoming of him, Viridian raises his halberd roofward and cries out, "Hail the King!"

In the war room of Empiriana's royal castle there were a whole lot of more or less important people were seated about and there was a bit of whispering going on for the Emperor had just revealed that he has a plan, but has not yet chosen the people who would go to execute this plan of his.

One of the people seated in the war room was Sir Fendius, renowned alchemist, not well known conjurer, nobleman, inventor of the amazing 'Rash-Off' potion etc.

Sir Fendius was rather intrigued by the thought of getting to do something contributive (and rewarding) instead of just returning to his research, wich hasn't been going anywhere recently, and thinking about how Kaiser Septem's errand boys get all the glory showered upon them as he and his research fall into obscurity.

Since noone else seemed to say much Fendius decided to attract the emperor's attention and say: "Your royal highness! Would it aid your decision if one was to volunteer for this task?"

"No, not really, Fendius." the emperor said. "I have already assigned every one of you with a mission. I want you to go to our northern empirian shipwright and meet up with Freiherr Raphael, there. From there, you can enter a Esquirean barge." he commanded. "The crew will consist of Esquireans who know what to do... I suggest you don't try to talk with them... They tend to be aggresive..." He added pensively.

"Anyway, I want you to dock at Merthoc and use your concotions to set fire to the docks. Make sure that Freiherr Raphael sticks close to you." he said.

"And hurry! time is of the essence."

Meanwhile, a dark shadow passed over the land, looking for a mercenary which would protect him on his journey to Esquire.

He abandoned his black steed and entered a concrete tower, filled with chains and cries of the damned. He himself could be mistaken for a beggar with his ragged clothes, unkempt hair and the dirt upon his hands, knees and feet.

Two men halted him, but before they could even draw their swords, one was lying in writhing agony and the other one was lifted by the throat, until he fell down with a sickening crack.

The shadow rushed further down the hallway, before his actions were noticed by other patrolling guardsmen.

A jailor was sitting at a desk, sleeping, but before he realised what was full well happening a gigantic wave of invisible energy crushed him against a wall. The shadow sweeped the keys from the mangled body and grabbed one of the swords that were lying around.

He forced open the prison where his contact was supposed to be.

"Max?" He asked.

Riding down the road upon his not-so-mighty steed, Sir Fendius pondered what the emperor had commanded him to do:

"Why... Why me! Why must I go on this mission with Freiherr Raphael! The emperor made it almost sound like I was to babysit him... Not that he was a man who wouldn't need babysitting..." Fendius thought with a scowl upon his bearded face. "I have better things to do than to stand all of his irk and make sure that he doesn't run off after some desirable wench when he is supposed to be doing something important; I have my research in the laboratory..."

After a bit of grumbling and thinking mean things about the Freiherr and how he loathes him, Sir Fendius's mind stumbled on the other thing the emperor had told him to do:

"Burning the docks eh... That hardly is work suitable for a man like me; I'm an alchemist, not a pyromaniac... But I do like burning things... It is somehow a rewarding feeling how someone else has worked hard to build something, but in the end they see that it is fragile and vulnerable; Their work is consumed by the flames, but my work lives on for generations to come." The thought of this brought a rather sinister smirk on Fendius's face.

Hours upon hours passed as he rode down the road, rarely stopping, ever tinkering.

Suddenly Sir Fendius realised how funny it was that the emperor seemed to have forgotten to mention about their escape; It almost makes this seem like a suicide mission. However, Sir Fendius threw that idea out of his head for he was about to reach his destination; He could almost see the expression on the Freiherr's face when they meet...

Sir Fendius was approaching his ever nearing destination yet he had a nagging feeling that something wasn't right about this.

"I have with me all I need in order to perform this most honorable of services for the King. If you've nothing else to say, I'll do as you suggested and take my leave now," Ename says before stepping out of the room.
