true frindes? true frindes are people who will back you up when are needed the most,yes i have some of thouse,who will help whenever nessery,and for that, i owe them the same excat treatment, there are not much and i cherish the ones i do.

I have quite a few friends. Some who helped me when I was just about giving up on School, they helped me get back on track. Others who have helped me when I was just in a fight or helped me to not be in one and they have defended me if I had got into trouble at School.

I'm rather surprised of the number of people who say that they have no real friends. Makes you reconsider the whole "internet community is not substitute for friends" thing. OK, I'll be the first to admit that real friend are hard to find, but life just wouldn't be the same without one.

There is no such thing as a true friend. People are meant to use eachother to fulfill different purposes. An individual with no purpose to you means nothing.
Also, taking advantage of people who belive in this "friendship" myth is easy as pie.

Friends...those are the things you sacrifice in a volcano to satisfy Chaos ... right?
Well online I have a few. In real life I have a few less. Though some of the ones I would have listed didn't list me  .
It is actually pretty hard to get me to trust somebody, because I live by a very strict 'code'. Two strikes and your out, never to be trusted again. The reason why I have such a strict code is I trust my friends completely. They need money, or me to pick them up at 2am because they are drunk..I'm there. I would lay down my life for my friends, so I have to be very careful about who I call a friend.

friends (no, not Friends)
there are only four people i consider close enough to call true friends... two of them are, naturally, my girls... the other two are people i met when i joined uni
i would give life and limb for any of them and they are the same towards me.... money? check ...moral support? check ...a helping hand? check ....a smack upside the head to keep them from making a mistake? check
no, its not always roses and sunshine... but they are there for me and i am there for them, no matter what
as for simply "friends" ...i have about fifty of them, one or two may jump up a category at some point ...i won't even go into buddies and acquaintances... too many to even try and get a number

I have a good amount of close friends. Unfortunately, most are scattered throughout the country, so seeing them is difficult. Thankfully my best friend is one a couple of hours away. We've known eachother for about 14 years now. While we may not always understand the other's actions, when it comes down to it, we have each other's back.

Yea, my friends are scattered all over the country also, mostly out west. I think it's kind of ironic that people talk about online friends vs RL friends because 95% of my contact with RL friends is with email (only one of them uses an instant messenger).
I have 3 friends I've known for 50 years or so, a couple more friends I've known for 30+ years, and a couple more I've known for about 15 years.
The nearest one is about 8 hours drive, the next nearest one is more like 8 hours flight. So yea, far away. I see one them about once a year and the others about once every 2-5 years.

Wow I had forgotten about this thread.
At my age I'm starting to move into Binabik territory. I fly out to see a different friend once a year. Similarly a friend usually stays with me for a weekend two or three times a year.
It isn't like when I was in school.
