New War Machine: Cannon (WoG) and a few other ideas

Cannon

Fires steel ball that deals heavy damage to creatures in a 3x3 area. Can be fired up to three times in a battle depending on skill level. What's the catch, it is only available for Maritime battles, and you have to be at a town that has a shipyard. The cannon stays with the boat, so if an enemy steals your boat, they also steal your cannon.

Krakken

Uh oh, your ship has sailed upon a large krakken! They dwell in whirlpools, but they take way more units that the standard whirlpool. They can completely cripple your army. Worse, you won't know if their is a krakken in it until at least one person has visited it. Once some unfortunate sailer has sailed into it, the krakken is visible. Oh, and it only affects those sailing into the whirlpool, not out. It is killed if the boat has been outfitted with a cannon, and won't kill off most of your creatures. Certain sea affiliated creatures can also kill it, but you will still lose a lot of your army, but at least it will be gone. Plus, killing it gives you lobs of experience and grants you a very rare sea affiliated artifact.

Mermaids and Pirates

Arrrr! These be like the monsters of the same name in Heroes 4. Pirates also increase your movement rate at sea and can also be hired at certain sea locations to patrol the sea for other heroes. They will sink their ships and kill their armies, but keep the loot. Mermaids can warn you before you enter a whirlpool if a krakken is hiding in it, and only with mermaids are you able to recruit the level 7 sea serpent, the leviathan. Maritime mermaid battles are risky, as not all mermaids fight, when you encounter some, they'll just charm some of your army away, effectively killing several of your creatures.

Harpooners

Level 5 creatures that specialize in maritime battles, they can keep Mermaids from charming away your units and also have a slayer bonus against leviathans. They also kill krakkens, but you will still lose a good portion of your army, and it has to be a sizeable army at that. A ship with Pirates, Harpooners, and a cannon on board has little to worry about.

Sea Centaur

The name's misleading, these level 3 creatures are half elf, half sea horse, and attack at a distance with their spears. They aren't particularly good at ranged attacks though, so they get weaker the farther the spear is thrown from. Unlike mermaids and leviathans which suffer land penalties, they can swim magically through the air. They can be upgraded at Rampart's to become Kelp Centaurs, which are green and covered in kelp, and spits rocks for a better range attack.

Seagulls

When you see these guys flying over water, you can visit them and typically get a +1 boost in morale and luck. 5% of visits you will also find a random minor artifact, 10 wood, and 5000 gold. 30% of visits they'll poop on you though and you'll get -2 luck and morale. Yuck!

Giant Sea Turtle

Works as a sanctuary on water. Who would attack you on the back of a giant sea turtle?

Barrel

Barrels float in the water, containing 500 gold, 1500 gold, 6 gems, 6 crystals, 6 mercury, 6 crystal, 6 sulfur, 3 mithril, one minor artifact, 1 major artifact, or it blows up and takes out a portion of your army. Yikes! Sometimes it contains old whiskey, which can be traded at the town market for 30 pirates.  Arrrrg! *hiccup*

Well...

As wog is now, those ideas wont fit in.
Though when HotA comes, it might actually be cool, in some cove campaign.
Not single player though.

But in a cove campaign, you could add those things, you just came up with some ideas about in it.

One question, remains though..
Who is gonna make them ?

Hell Wizard.. i know^^
Lots of ideas, we just need them, to be made.
But for a Custom campaign with cove, then the ideas wouldnt be bad
Well if he could make them himself, it would be good, and a nice addition to the pirate theme
