Neutral structures and siege warfare

Here is a two folded idea regarding neutral structures and siege warfare for HMM6.

1. Currently HMM5 has lots of different structures that store gold/artifacts/spells (like Dragon Utopia and etc). What if such structures could include specific fortifications and traps? Like thick bone walls at the graveyard with hands-from-below traps or fire pits and huge piles of gold inside Utopia. It will definitely bring more flavor to simple “open clear field” raids.

2. Such structures with fortifications might be occupied by Heroes and their armies after defeating previous residents. This opportunity develops certain tactical approach for offensive players who early became visible to opponent.

What do you think?

1. Traps I'm not sure about, but Battle-Sites definitely need something to break up the monotony (mind you, I only have experience with H3 Battle-Sites, which usually had the hero in the centre, with the guards spaced around the outside).

2. This is starting to make Battle-Sites sound like Garrisons, but without the latter's actual strategic use, unless you could think of something valuable to store in them. You'd be on safer ground though, with guarded mines and dwellings.

Another thought about neutral structures (not sieges), is Independent Mines. These would be like normal mines, but instead of depositing the resources in your stockpile, they deposit them in their own stockpile, to be taken by whoever turns up first.

Something like a mill, but less random.

A thing I'd like to see is actual areas inside buildings.

For example, if you enter a crypt you'd actually have to fight your way through the crypt, like a mini-underground.

Of course, we have the problem of realism. A crypt could hardly fit 2000 soldiers at the same time, but it's a fun idea.

The idea is good, but I think it would be either to complex or take to long time if you're playing multiplayer. Maybe an option that turns it on/off?

Something like that, but they store resources (up to seven days), so if you visit every day you get a small quantity of resources each time, but if you only visit every four or five days you get a fairly substantial quantity.

As for areas inside buildings, no thanks, mere battlegrounds do me fine.

Also, the ability to modify a Battle-Site's Guards (limit it to town creatures but for one-or-two general sites) and treasure could make things interesting (Modify Dragon Utopias to reward you with 15,000-24,000 gold, but not spells. Modify Treant Thickets to have tree Green/Emerald Dragons instead of the 60 Hunters/Master Hunters). Possibly this would necessitate a fifth Adventure Magic spell such as View Guards (allowing you to view any Battle-Site's guard compliment for the rest of the day).

I'd say that IF combat took place IN these structure. i suggest that it should have its scenery reworked into "Dungeon" style terrain. (and has different combat conditions too!)
