I'm hoping you guys could help...
I have Homm 5 1.6 EU. When I start up the game, the sound and music works perfectly. When I start the campaign, I get no dialogue or subtitles at all during the first cutscene. In fact, no cutscenes in the game have any dialogue or speech.
The sound effects work fine during these cutscenes, and there arent any problems with sound during the game itself. However, I'm missing the entire storyline because no one is talking. It's very annoying.
Any suggestions? I've tried reinstalling the game and repatching, with no luck. I've also tried all of the Dxdiag Audio tab settings for acceleration, with no success.
Once again. During cutscenes I get no speech and no subtitles. Just sound effects, and of course, the graphics.

I'm sorry to see this. I'm not sure how to remedy this problem, but at least you can read the lines in the objectives menu.
You don't miss the plot, only the voice acting.
EDIT: It would be best to use the sticky Question Topic when asking next time

Sorry about that. I looked at the forum and just saw a wall of text. XD
Yeah, I can read the objectives no problem. Still, a lot of the game is the cutscenes before and during a mission. I don't get those. I wouldn't mind if I at least had subtitles.
Maybe someone else has had this problem. It might be some kind of corruption with the .pak files.

I can say the usual unhelpful stuff...re-install the game...make sure your drivers are up to date...
I think you should install the direct x from the cd and this will solve your issue...but what do I know?

Yeah, tried all of that. Still no speech or subtitles. Looks like a silent movie (With sound effects).

If you go to the directory where you installed H5, and then the "data" folder, do you even find a "sound.pak" file? If so, how big is it?

I don't know much about what should be done.
But if you don't manage to solve the sound problem, here you can find ALL the dialogues (including those from the ending of the missions).
I can't do more for you, sorry.

I think you should go to the "data" folder and see if there is the "sound" file,or something like this.
The data folder is a very important one,so I don't reccomand you to change too much there.
The problem is 90% from the data file,did you changed or deleted something in the past?
