BEST SPORT GAME
There is a lot of Horror, action, childfun, fantasy, stradegy etc etc in here, but there is quite few sport games  That's sad!
So i'll make a topic about BEST SPORT GAMES ever.
Your total top 3 (And by top 3 i mean no endless lists of games you have tried).. But a top 3 for PC, Playstation, Nintendo and Xbox. And maybe a total Top 3 of all...
When you are playing a shooting game, you don't get the same feeling of exitement and action spirit, that you get from real extreme sport games. Even strategy games can go home, because there's no games such as sports games to kill the time..
When i say extreme sports, i don't mean fifa, or tennis, but you can mention them too, because they are sports games!
I think the best sport games you can get, i thoose with fast movement, insane stunts and difficult to complete. Games you need to keep your focus on the level, opponents and obstacles to win the game..
Games like Need for Speed, SSX, Midnight Club, "Maybe" Mirrors Edge...

As you can see, i'm an SSX Fanatic.! That game can make your adrenalin pump arround..

But that is the most boring game genre there is! 
Not fan of the sports games but i do play them occasionally. Their greatest strenght and weakness is that you can play them endlessly, never finishing them entairly.
I have always hated when they release another game to the series each year, Fifa 2008 -> 2009 etc. After a year the game you played is already old and the only main difference is team members changes. It would be nice in the future that sports games would patch themself via net connection and there would be FIFA, NHL, PES... and no year titles anymore. That's not gonna happen when they get the money easier this way.
Top 3;
1. Pro Evolution Soccer - Beats Fifa series anyday of the week imho. Haven't played them after 6 but really great game serie. Number 8 was 2008 and you can predict my reaction... Greatest fun is to play this against skilled human player, oh yeah and win 
2. NHL - Don't know what it's about us finnish, when we go crazy for hockey. I remember playing NHL 1995 back in the days, how the one-timers always finded it's way at back of the net. So little have the things changed over the 14 years My favorite one is NHL 1999 played it quite alot when it didn't hurt how bad cpu was. NHL 2004 was classic, they introduced finish and other europian leagues but the best treat was the Dynasty mode where your team players stats changed over the years and you get to play whit the economy as well. Great fun, it feeds up your leveling desire from other games in a way. Good fun but in time you get bored of AI.
3. WWE/WWF SmackDown! It's been few years but i really enjoyed smack games. Story mode was ridiculous as the show itself. Greating own charters whit apperance and moves is really fun. I have only played few games in the serie but liked them much better than the tv show. Playing against AI is suprisingly entertaining, maybe because you can lose sometimes thanks to that suprising chair trick perhaps

I have to agree with Homer on the Pro Evo series. I love it.
I also enjoy the punch out boxing games.

Collin Mcrae: Dirt and similiar. And NBA Live mod with Euroleague teams (go Zalgiris!)

Not really a big fan here. I used to play FIFA to kill time, but now I found much better things to do.
Now, seriously, I'd rather play Heroes V for half an hour than any sports game for 3 hours.

I never really play sport games, doesn't interrest me at all.
but I used to play a lot of FIFA at a friends house, one of the old ones for PS 1
Else I think WII sports eventhough it isn't pretty or anything is really enjoyable for multiplayer
And out of that comment you can read I am no sport addicted player

Since you mentioned NFS in sport games,ill say Worms and some game similar but with Pigs.

I only mentioned NFS because it's a kind of a racing sports game!
But i got to say, that HC doesn't include many Sport fanatics!..
I'm not a sport fan either, but SSX series is still one of the best games ever!!
Have you tried SSX?
And yes, Fifa is a bad vesion of Pro evoloution Soccer..
Fifa is only known because they use real names and clubs!
