Why did you nerf Confusion so much? In my opinion the spells should have almost the same effect as now with 10 Spellpower, but in your case you need 20.

Otherwise I pretty much agree with this system. Heck, even I made one such proposal in the Altar once, and then Edna did as well, and now you. So either we think alike or Nival's system plain sucks and many people would like it changed (my bet is on the latter)

I think I made the best mod of all about spells.

I destroyed spells level 4 and 5, and only 3 levels of spell are now possible.

All spells of level 4 and 5 became level 3 and some level 3 became 2 or 1 and some level 2 became level 1.

So any heroes can learn all spells without none of magic schools which
they are just necessary to improve power and duration of spells

No need of a particular Hero level to learn Adventure Spells, just building the required guild.

Spells of last level (level 3) can learn if the Hero has the particular magic school.
Moreover, a Hero can learn all last level spells if he has Wisdom/Sorcery

All spell properties like power and duration are been boosted,
not linear way but exponential way, example:

mastery none         = 1.3x
mastery basic        = 1.4x
mastery advanced     = 1.5x
mastery expert       = 1.6x
mastery extra expert = 1.7x

So, you can build heroes without magic schools, just with Wisdom and be able to cast all existing spells
and then to remain to concentrate on others skills.

You can want to get a big power stat to increase spells strenght or finally to get a magic school to become a real magic master.

When a Hero casts a spell, you understand he really participates to the fight.

oh ok, it's not a thread.
btw, the reason I didn't change bless and curse is because the more spellpower you have, the less powerful is curse. it's the contrary for bless.
asheera : wasn't confusion a bit powerful for a level 3 spell? especially mass confusion?

yes. and I'm happier like that

I found too stupid the fact that if you dont have the concerned magic school you cannot learn a spell even if it is high.

For my share, School in the life or in the game exist to improve knowledges and it is not a obligation.

My philosophy is, don't go to school if you want and accept that your implosion is weaker than these one
of a expert hero in this matter.

Wisdom allows to learn all spells but their power is weaker than if you learn the magic school.

So, you can just be a expert master in light magic and be alble casting high level destruction even if weaker.

By programmation. (That re-writes all spell .xdb file with new values)

I have a NCF database...but I have too Spells, Artifacts, Objects, etc etc Database

the exponential method is calculated about the mastery level and not on the Heroes stat power....

More you increase your power stat more the power spell increases too
but if you level up the mastery of your spell, you reach a new factor number in the calculation.

No, I think to do it needs to hack .exe a serious hacking, moreover.

At least to be able to change values of spell properties is a consolation not matter the way.

My mod takes care of mastery extra expert level as well...caused by NCF...

a reason I'm not interested by spell modification into NCF mod.

Of course it needs some battletesting but i love genaraly the idea of bigger dependency on spellpower than just mastery.

No, the joke is that Wisdom perk allows to learn 3rd level spells so, by transforming all spells of 4th and 5th level to 3rd then Wisdom will allow to learn this spells as well because now they are of 3rd level.

Wisdom is a sorcery skill's perk, you know.

btw, be careful if you have my ice dragon, he uses a modded bloodlust spell. you can merge the 2 mods if you want, since the dragon only uses the mastery extra expert.

Thanks for it.

But anyway, when I take a new NCF, I remove always spells folder inside.

I can still benefit of mastery extra expert from your NCFs with my own spells mod. (I have the ice dragon like all other yours, moreover)
