DEF maker error...

Well, I read through the tutorial on how to alter creature .DEFs, and got most of the way through ok, but I've now run into a problem... I add all the necessary files to the DEF maker, but when I hit "compile def," it stops at 16% and gives me "read past end of file" error popup. Is there something simple I missed here...?

which version of DEF Maker do you have?
And what kind of DEF are you trying to compile? (creature, map object, etc.)
