Sauron has no physical shape, now, so logic'd dictate that galadriel'd be stronger

Try this here: https://forums.revora.net/topic/105190-bfme1bfme2rotwk-games-download-installation-guide/
Just enter your own cd code and everything should be alright. Also, EA isn't really in possession of the rights to this game any more, so I wouldn't bother to much.
I myself am still playing bfme and enjoying it a lot as I think it is a real rts-gem and there are just a lot of really amazing modders out there who really keep this game alive although it isn't sold anymore.
I totally didn't know a thread like this existed here. Else, I would have to post here a lot earlier. Anyways, I recommend you to try some mods or (if you like the vanilla gameplay) at least the community-made patches like 1.09 and 2.02.

For long I felt like it was a typical RTS where the one who masses a bigger army with more upgrades wins, in this case with many losses. Now I rarely lose more then a few dozens, often finnishing with none. My trick, aplayable to Nurn (my favorite) and some other big maps: I don't buy any units till later in game, I do all big fights just with heroes. I defeat the first enemie with all heroes then use just Aragorn, Gimly and sometimes Legolas to defeat the others, using the undead army that I summon centered right in the citadel. I play this one with an ally on the other side of the map and the real challenge is to keep him alive. Do you or anyone else has other tricks to share?

I got my own personal copy, I had the game files burned to my disk drive so I wouldnt have to keep using the cd (ROTWK is so damn fragile, over a few years I had 4 copies, back when it was 10 pounds apice, now it's like 150).
I had so many fun games, innovating my own strats that completely decimated da foo's. All those damn treeshaggers going for mirks while me on my lonesome rushed barracks troops and then armour (some games I opted for haldir - leadership, others if they got far enough it was elrond, but haldir is total crap in 1v1s, 2v2s soso, glorf most of the time with elrond mid-lategame).
I loved it, by far my highest winrate faction using my own unique strategy. (ROTWK) Lol there were regularly dudes trying cheese tactics on Osgiliath 1v1 (4k so you know they're up to something), just bought elrond and a ****ton of hobbits (3 of em take out a hero really fast, 5-10 and they get one shot).
Then there was Angmar, simply amazing, the only faction I could win a 2v1 on stonewain valley with (my ally forfeited), the heroes alone could beat any army (backed up by a few sorcerers ofc). Their biggest downside was pisspoor siege capability, so they cant stand up to turtlers, but at the same time they can turtle as well even without extensive walls/towers. That was the major downside with them, I just had too many games where it came down to attrition.
Dwarves as well were pretty fun. Humans just felt dirty af, between swordsman rushing (or cavalry) to take out enemy economical buildings using the Power buff, to KODA backdoors, and cheap boromir with that mass stun horn, too dirty.
(I did play goblins n mordor now and then, I was pretty decen at one point, but I never truly gave them a solid shot, mostly relied on standard strats like mordor archer spam, n gobo rushes never did anything innovative like I did with Elves).
Edit:
Also dont listen to Totoro regarding walls, since after you have a wall hub it constructs automatically (so u dont need a builder), it can be used to funnel enemies, distrupt their movements and block escapes (or delay them), those small features utilized properly can have a solid situational impact (besides enemies will only attack walls if they're truly obstructing them. nobody is going to waste time otherwise, maybe if they just want to fill their powerbar, but that's daft, time is critical in this game).
