Home sweet home!
I've said it before and I'll say it again, I miss the "good ol' days" . Not because the member list was full of more interesting active participants, not because I dislike all of the people who post here today - but because I miss the spirit that this place used to have. I miss having fun, I miss coming here on a day when RL was especially taxing and just having a break and relaxing a bit with friends.
Back then, there weren't a lot of different forums - it was all here. You could find a thread about suicide nestled between one about mischievous elves and their sneaky ways and another about some fellows' desperate desire to enter the modsquad (what do they talk about in there?!?)
To me, what made it great and what made the friendships real, was that people talked to each other in all of those threads - they had many different sides to their personalities and you could see them all depending on where you were reading. People were real.
Now we seem to have a bunch of groups that post as per their group philosophy.
Ring a bell and person A posts a picture featuring a silly cat who can't spell, Ring it again and person B picks a single phrase out of your post and starts to twist it until he finds the angle that he can use to create a useless war of words about nothing - ring it once more and person C will chime in about how persons A and B had no right to post at all, because the bell's intentions have been compromised.
Again, I know I've said the exact same thing before - but its becoming worse by the minute. I know that there has to be more to our posters than that, I've seen it in a lot of you.
I'm sure that there's got to be a way to find it again, that feeling that posting here is not only for the sake of getting a red star - We can make this a place where losing a member is a far worse thing to imagine than losing one of those little red stars...
I'm really fed up with dealing with the people who can find nothing but what's wrong. So I'm done wasting my energy on it - the Tavern has always been the forum for me that I've had the most fun in, so I'm staying right here!
I'm sure we can make this place worth visiting again, and stop those guys out there from talking about how bad HC's gotten - and what better way to lift spirits than in a tavern over a few cold ones

Well I've been here ever since this forum sucked (according to other people's descriptions) and I don't mind it. Then again when I see a flame/whine thread I just click somewhere else, as opposed to a mod who is somewhat obligated to read it.

lol, that's really a great plan...studies have shown that for every seven flame posts you read you sprout one new silver hair, and the whine posts only take 4 posts to start your greys coming in.
I think for the sake of preserving sanity and precious youth, we all need to just click away from those threads.
Then we can start new threads imagining what they must be saying in there - it could be a fun little roleplay we enjoy over cocktails
