Identify your element.
Classical Elements
You see them all the time in fantasy games: Fire, Wind/Air, Earth, Water. So, I'm wondering - if you had to classify yourself as identifying with one of these elements, which one would you choose? Which element best matches your personality, and why?
Possible personality interpretations (my own thoughts - feel free to interpret differently):
FIRE - You are emotional, prone to flare-ups, outwardly passionate, often so much that you can be destructive. You are also creative, but in a manic, unplanned sort of way. People are drawn to you, even though they don't necessary have a good reason to associate with you. You are rebellious and chaotic, shunning authority. Short-tempered. Loud.
EARTH - You are outwardly unemotional and unmoving. Sometimes stubborn, maybe inflexible, often unresponsive. Slow to make a decision, but resolute once you have. You have a large moment of inertia and don't like change. You are practical and grounded and materialistic. Nobody has ever seen you get mad, but if you do anger, watch out. You're quiet, peaceful, reliable and have integrity. You have few friends but the ones you do have stick with you for long periods of time.
AIR/WIND - You are kind and helpful. You are intellectual, but complicated. People like you but don't understand you. You are dynamic and somewhat chaotic - prone to periods of calm as well as unpredictable volatile emotion. You are communicative and social, but can have a surprisingly short temper. Extroverted. Your personal relationships are better characterized by quantity rather than quality.
WATER - You can be emotional (but much mellower than fire) and nurturing and intuitive. You're smooth and easy going; you don't like to make decisions and would rather follow someone else's lead. You make a good friend because you're dependable. Some people might see you as needy, sensitive and irrational. You also don't like to sit still and always feel the need for new things.
Another question to consider is: what personality type would make the best government leader?
EDIT: I don't want to bias people's responses with my definitions. So, feel free to pick an element and provide a definition of your own, if the above don't fit.

Hmmm, I was always considering my element as a mix between shadow and ice (something like mix between water and air). But there is no shadow element here.

Well I guess you can choose a different element - just define it.
For the record, I'd consider myself an earth with a little air thrown in just for fun.

Your characterization fits my overall view of myself: mostly earth with puddles of water here and there.
As for the leader question... none of them alone would make a truly good leader, although earth is the most stable so it probably would be the best. I'd say a blend of earth's seriousness and air's intellect and charisma is the way to go here.

Earth fits me best, but here's what does and doesn't (crossed). Amounts are in red which means few, green which means moderate and blue which means a lot:Quote:

Ok, then I think I am a mix between air and water with air in priority. But I must say that it doesn't picture my character very well. Oh, and I have some connections with earth as well.

By the way, when I created this thread, I had a prediction as to what the majority of people here would be. I don't want to say what it is for fear of influencing answers.
Hmm.. maybe I should have made this a poll.
Really, Father, I sort of pictured you as a water or air - mist, if you will!

I am Air/Water, with air as pritority following what you said about personalities. Strangely enough that is also how I have usually looked upon myself...even thou I am scared of water that is not connected to the ocean(try almost drowned 4-5 times and see how you feel).

By all means - I'd be interested in alternate views of how others would characterize the elements' personality attributes. I just went with whatever I thought of off the top of my head. More importantly - I don't want to bias people's responses with my definitions. So, feel free to pick an element and provide a definition of your own.
Interesting thing is, some of the people here at HC I definitely have a feeling of how I'd classify them. We'll have to see how right I am when (if) they respond here. Other people I have no idea.

Water for me though I have always liked air to a lesser extent. My natural tendency indeed was not to make decisions but things change, someone has to. And I do feel uneasy sitting down doing nothing, my conscience can't allow that for long  A rather close description was in H5's myth of creation about the dragon of water:
The blue Dragon of Water is humble, quiet and secretive. She is the serene mystic, wisest of the dragons, and her knowledge is only second to her sister Malassa, the Dragon of Shadow, for her watery realm is ripe with forgotten lore and treasure.
In all things, she values diplomacy, versatility and adaptability. Yet, if she decides to act, she is swift and indomitable. You cannot hope to win when you are fighting the waves.
Except I'm not that secretive.
About air I suppose I do consider myself more complicated than average but I favour the simplistic approach by choice. I have the occasional chaotic moments but not emotionally, I can't lose my temper fast if I wanted to nor can I shift from happy to sad like others. Finally my relationships are more about quality than quantity.
When it comes to leadership I don't believe there is one winning combination. Water-air could make one extroverted yet humble, diplomatic and resolute character that can take the hard decisions, however a fire variant has the passion that can stir the hearts. I am not convinced that a chaotic person can be as effective as a cool headed one but he can certainly have his appeal on people. Earth would probably also be a good candidate as long as people get to know him. Such characters can take some time to win people over but they can do so slowly as surely.

I don't know - I think a strong Earth would be too inflexible to be a good leader. Resolve is good, but only to the extent that it doesn't make you close-minded to other ideas.
