Since Elit is a newer player, and I can understand that such strategic depths like hit/run can be difficult for a player to understand I will clarify.

Hit and Run - Is both honorable or dishonorable depending on the rules preset prior to game.

Defination - An aggressive action taken by the ATTACKER killing a large number of enemy troops without chance, nor possibility to retaliate, followed in due haste the enemy hero running with his army.

Examples of hit and run --

Emerald dragon flies across screen attacking and killing a large number of creatures, the retaliation does not kill any dragons and attacker runs.

Hero with swift mind ( or without) attacks drops large catastrophic spell on enemy armies and then runs.

What is not hit and run

Hit and run is a deliberate action in which a player knows he has no chance of complete victory in the first round of combat (yes only the first round) And takes advantage of the situation by "evening the odds"

combat round 2,3,4,5----->500

Enemy player attacks with unit or spell does significant dmg and runs from the battle to fight another day.

One other VERY misunderstood "NOT hit and run event"

Hero A attacks Hero B

it is clear that hero A will crush the enemy.  Hero B in my opinion may drop a spell or attack and then run and still be well within his bounds.  My rationale for this is that if you have caught an enemy hero while hes creeping, undoubtedly there is powerups, artifacts, ect that Hero B will no longer be able to reach, but Hero A will gain full advantage from.  The only way to keep the ensuing battle equal is to kill some units before you run

In conclusion hit and run is

To HIT the opposing hero, deal a significant amount of dmg in the first round of combat and tuck tail and run, suffering little or no losses yourself.

If your hero is Attacked, and you must run, I feel there is nothing wrong with making it hurt a bit.

DISCLAIMER:  This is Destro23's personal opinion in regards to hit and run, this does not carry over all of toh and players and anyone should most certainly clarify the opponents exact definition of hit and run prior to the game.

Hope that clears things up for you Elit.. I know you have a very small amount of online experience
