Why, why why?
(This is posted once before in the thread about help, but i didn't get any response! So i'm posting it here)
I just found my old Heroes 4 Complete like Frank5... The installation worked as it should, i did open the map editor as the first thing (Cuz heroes 4 have the best map editor of all heroes games), i created a campaign (Took me lots of hours)..
But i can't play the stupid game! Whenever i press the exe file, it goes bluescreen..
Is that because i have Windows Vista? or is it something else?

I think it is Vista 64 who can't play heroes 4. I had that problem too, but I'm using my brothers computer instead We're playing hotseat sometimes..
But anyways - I'd like to solve that problem too, so I don't have to use my brothers computer.

Radar# If Evasion is right about 64, you must have 32?
Evasion# Yeah, and i can use my old computer, but i hate it.. Anyone know the soloution...
I think i'll try to find a patch and see if that helps.
And if not, i'l try Equilibris mod to see (Seems stupid, but i whant to try anyway.)
EDIT:
Blue-screen is usually a software fail.
^^ 0x0000008E means for an example RAM fail 7B means problems with harddrive
The fail you get is because of star-force! The way star-force is looking for the cd in it's own proetcted way, and not through the vista way, means that vista thinks it is a hacker attack, and then shuts down your system only to protect you (protect you from heroes 4)
So the morale is! Don't use anything with star-force on vista!
Star-Force Crap
EDIT 2: I have searched for an hour allmost to find out that:
You cannot play heroes IV on vista 64 bit.. It's impossible.. unless you have something like a virtual pc
