The first pic is rather good. You are decently good-looking, leaning and even shifted to the attractive side. The lighting is a compliment, very, very good pic.

Also, Evi should post some pics soon! Little ray of sunshine that she is...

Plenty of cool guys in there Sadly we have been separated but most live in Athens, it's a small world and our paths will no doubt cross again. We made a good team, fond memories from the training camp A period of my life is over, another begins, this time more demanding. But hey as long as there is good company I am going to be fine. And the frequent days off with net access isn't bad either.

I don't get it. Who would, in these times, want to attack Greece out of all countries lol? I don't see the point of having obligatory military service in 2011. Has Earth ever been this close to world peace?
Plus if you needed an army, you should let women become soldiers aswell. They are 50% of the population.

I might post some pictures of the town I live in.
My school is located 30 seconds away from the city's castle, it can be seen from the windows.

Indeed, Greece is so poor now that some of its soldiers can't even afford a hat.

I believe FoG is right that Greece and Turkey still have some unresolved conflict concerning Cyprus. The fact that the Ottoman Turks ruled Greece for nigh on 400 years doesn't do the relationship much good either.

U mad

Actually.. I don't hold any grudges but yes there is unresolved conflict. Things aren't like before when things were hostile, we are not on best terms but you know. Also highly unlikely something will happen.

Reposting from my goodbye thread in the tavern:

---

Holy crap, I am in Cyprus and I cannot believe my luck. Warm climate(was freezing in last camp in Greece), warm and tidy people (they shook my hand the moment I got there!) , the superiors are lax and talk to us like they would to a friend, plenty of days out. To make things even better my specialty is fairly easy, I feel like I'm on holidays ^^

Others have been screwed from the very first day, I am thankful for getting in the specific camp.

---

Yeah things are looking up

That's still going on also on the Greek side? Turkish people are so fanatically nationalist, so I was used to their feeling stupid hostility. But didn't know the same was there too

Ah, he still lives. I thought the rigors of basic training would end your life for sure. Glad you ended up somewhere you like; Cyprus would have been my pick too What level are you now? You going for Tears or Blood? (Blood. Do it. You want to. I know you do)

So many pictures of vengeful thighs and people in uniforms in this thread. HC is mobilizing

@Nocturnal
Actually it's not so much the Greeks rather than the Cyprians. Greece even airs Turkish soap operas this year lol My specialty is about calculating positions and determining enemy coordinates for our missiles ^^ Apart from sounding cool, it has less work than most though some studying is expected of me.

You must be kidding. After my oath I had 4 days off. Then I go back for 1.5 days and get 5 more days off. Then I return and get another day, then another that I opted to stay in and finally last Thursday I was out till Sunday morning. It's like I never left since the oath

What I hear from other camps is beginning to sound nightmarish, there are prison penalties flying around for less than half of a reason. And actually.. The concept of tears or blood was on my mind after hearing how badly oldies treat the newcomers and how many chores they load on them. I wondered if I'd be able to keep a tears approach in the face of openly disrespectful retards that have no power over me yet they can make my life a living hell if they wanted to. After some reflection I believe I would not have gone blood on them but this is a decision I will never hae to make

it might sound less cool if you ever have to actually use them
here the military service isn't mandatory anymore, so I know nothing about it, but I wonder how many guys actually feel like they are in a video game? I heard the US used video games to attract new recruits. seriously?

If you think that determining coordinates is cooler than firing missiles then you have issues

Huh, I did the same thing. What kind of missiles? I was in a self-propelled howitzer.

I don't know if it's as cool as actually firing those, but yes - my life was considerably easier.

Did you have the infantry training too? I understand the Greek army uses G3 and only the special forces use AK47 and M16?
