Where do I start?
Hey everyone, I've been playing Heroes since about the age of 8, mostly against the computer but also against my brother or my friends, and am now intending to get into playing online. I've played a few times over gamespy but the general level of opponent has been very poor and it's not been very exciting So, I was wondering, where can I find some good opponents and just how do I get started?! I visited the WCL website and tried to register to some of the tournaments, but it just says I need to have played at least 1 game before, so how do I play this game? Sorry if I'm missing something really obvious, but I just can't figure out how what to do
Thanks, durrr

Check out ToH....There you'll have some hard nuts to crack
( Even if it sounded like it, it wasn't an insult to Toh-players )
Edit: Toh = Tournament of Honor.

I checked out that website, but it appears to be Heroes 5? Anyway, I'm not really looking for a tournament, and I'm certainly not looking for experts, just someone who can play to a decent standard to have a casual game with.

If you don't find good players on gamespy, try Gameranger.
But in general, Gamespy has pretty good players around. Problem will be, those veterans fear to play new players, coz of their lack in experience. You hardly find a new player who will
1. play till the end
2. accept most turns of his opponent can last 20 minutes
3. be a challenge at all
4. play without cheats
5. Is used to main rules in online playing
6. Has ever heard about TE version of H3
...
...
...
But keep trying...
