I do not think it will be as amazing as it looks as I know Peter Molyneux from Fables developement.
90% of what he says is always crap.

Ha, now that you say that, this is quite true.
I think that Peter has tried to slow down his tendency to hype things, though, up since the Fable development screwups.

Software is the best thing man has ever made.

@Celfious: I think you summarized it pretty well.
Basically, what you said in your description is what concerns me as well.
But this isn't the first time Microsoft creates potentially exploitable technology. DRM quickly comes to mind. Technically, it's supposed to stop piracy, but it could just as easily keep you from using programs Microsoft doesn't want you to use, legal or not.

You can always just crack it

Either Microsoft has influences everywhere or maybe they've figured it out...but, I seem to recall having read somewhere that no one knows how to crack DRM.
The closest you can get to cracking it is to actually get the licensing files from them and then crack away using that. They'd still get access to your system in that case though.
(I'm referencing that new DRM they're putting on some audio and video files now. Perhaps other forms of DRM are crackable. In any case, I still use XP. )

I can't believe this video is real It would be the most impressive invention of this century... and there was a number of them already.
It would be really nice to control computer remotely without beeing bound to mouse. Always wanted more physical activity when at home.

I don't eat that... that the computer can recognize every single word with every possible tone. And it fails anyway if two people have very similar voices.

It's probably like that voice recognition that some phones have.
Like a menu where you can, for example configure the phrase that tells the console to turn off. Like "goodnight"
Though I would probably have something like "you're fat and no one loves you", *console goes quiet*

So what is it really? Someting similar to a Sonar+Infa Read Sensor+ 1MP cam? Basicaly its nothing to even patent, unless it got someting weird on it.
Eyetoy was vga cam + motion sensor mostly. It worked for what it worked for, but the wiimote got more potential. Well the wiimote failed by not being accurat upon going out to the marked, which Wiimotion+(corny name) is suppose to fix.
Edit: Forgot the mic which its suppose to have......... Never mind...

Something similar and more conventional.
EDIT: Btw, it's only a software and you can use a normal webcam (it's free too). I didn't try it (I'm on my old laptop and performance sucks, no webcam and no games) so don't take my word that it's not bloated or anything. If anyone tests it please share info

Those most likely use neural networks (well at least advanced speech recognition does anyway, not sure how 'advanced' it is in cellphones). I'm not so sure about this one though.

alright you asked, the conspiracy that with this kind of technology things might happen..
I dont think I said it's a guarantee things will happen but they can. Especially in later forms with more limbs to work with.

Much more serious conspiracy would be if a controller that can read your mind is made common. (it has been done, but only specific to individuals... not a large-scale thing)
