How would you set up government?
I see the way of America's government elections is not exactly fail proof and poses a huge amount of limitations on the voters who really only get 1 major whisper every 4 years.
Even the house and all of those people do maybe 99.9% of the votes that make a difference in our lives.
I would like to ask what form of voting system could you propose if you were selected to propose a plan to be voted on by the people.
Additionally, and as complicated as it seems, I would first have the people vote on the voting system, with the old form of some kind of popularity vote with states maybe equaling points that add up.. Maybe without state points, and pure popular.. When the new way to vote has been established we use the new way to vote to find what kind of changes need to be done with it.
All in all that would already give the people a very fair way to formulate how we affect this country.
So then, the government voting system and all it's effects I would propose is this:
So this is my speech/explanation
"We the people will vote on how many primary areas there are and who will be selected and will over see and regulate that is chosen by us. For instance I will say democratic, republic, and green. However it is up to us to redefine our ways in such a capacity that democrat and republican are terms of the past. It is all up not to me, not just to you, but to all of us! The transition will take some time due to voting processes. Each area will have a head, so with 3 areas, there are 3 heads that we the people vote on. They are souly in charge of their areas, yet there must be some checks and balances. The minor governments will vote by county and up (sometimes neighborhood), they will vote to appease the people when the people want to see a change. They will vote in the least biased way possible. This is not the only form of checks and balances. I must say that the people give a lot more input than in the old ways"
Ugh.. This goes on but it hurts to think about it, I will continue later perhaps, what is your form of government ideology?

I invented awhile ago an interesting government type. I don't yet have a name for it.
-------
There exists a royal family. The definition of Royal here is rather loose; it is possible for anyone to marry into it. This Royal family shall elect for itself a leader.
The Royal family has two powers and two duties.
Power 1 - It has the right to know everything. For this purpose it has an investigative agency with unlimited search rights. This agency does not make arrests or report its findings to local authorities.
Power 2 - It has the right to write the constitution from which the people's government shall be formed. It also has the right to fire the entire staff of the people's government and redraft the constitution. The staff of this government must be entirely composed of elected officials and officials appointed by elected officials.
Duty 1 - It must use its knowledge and wisdom to decide the proper course of the nation. This decision shall be announced and explained to the people and their government. If the staff of the constitutional government refuses to cooperate then it must be replaced.
Duty 2 - It must maintain an independent financial base to support itself and its investigative agency so that it cannot be controlled by its government.
-------
The actual constitution of the people's government would look pretty much identical to the US constitution, except the executive branch would not have a president as important as ours because that purpose is fulfilled by the leader of the royal family.
You might notice that this looks somewhat similar to the Queen of England. That's because it is. Technically the queen has the power to dissolve her government, but it is not clear she would succeed if she tried. My idea here is to make it very clear that the government better obey OR ELSE.

How would I set up the government? Well I would have total authority with no responsibility. Now..if you mean how would I set up the Government in the best interest of everybody else...
The government I set up would be a bit complicated, and not many people would want to be IN the government.
First the Government would still pretty much be as our current government with most of the changes happening in how they are elected and what happens when they are elected.
Ad time/tv time/etc would be absolutely free to them, with each recieving the same amount of publicity. As soon as they sign up to run they sign a 'privacy waiver'. Their finances are gone over with a fine tooth comb, they are watched by 'private eyes' 24/7 (and every day these people change and randomly), their phones are tapped, and basically they can't meet anybody in secret at all. This continues for the entire time they are running for office.
Once elected to office, they are given SOME privacy except financial and phone tapping.
Special Interest groups are banned from getting within 300 yards of them, or anybody these groups hire, jail time for anybody who breaks these rules if found out.
No more 'pork' attachments to a bill. Each state recieves a set ammount of money based on population for their projects.
Nobody may be in office for more then 10 years, no exceptions.

What i am thinking about is quite messy, but it could work. It involes a mess of a setup.
We start with local elections, but there is a major difference: You do not vote for your place. Basicaly all places where there are held local elections are gives numbers and after that they are randomed out. So election the people somewhere random vote. The real reason behind this is to avoid corruption and rigging.
Each group that is going to participate in the elections must give out their full information on what they are going to do, in full detail.
An example is that if they say their going to give more money to school, they must also tell the people where that money comes from. The current economi and what is going on will also be there on, just for the sake of comparision and order.
Another note is that the budget must be written before the election, so that the party that wins are obliged to keep its promises. If they do not, they will face quite severe consequenses. Which includes get kicked from their won position AND getting banned from the next election.
At the same time as the elections for this, a new group of people is randomly selected that is going to work on anti corruption. They got the full power to remove any elected group in any area elected in local election, going by a vote inside the group.
The local election then decides who is going furter into the hiracy, the regional election. The elected decides out of candidates, the candidates is elected purely upon the information on what they are going to do. There is no inforation such as pictures or names in this election.
The regional people will have their periode 1.7 times longer than the the ones elected in the local elections.
Another note is that any of the people may file an antitrust against anybody in the Regional, to keep them under controll.
There is a group higher than the regional one, the national one. How its elected is decided by a combination of the 3 groups: People, Local, Regional. Its re-decides once every 30th year. So it may be dictatorship, tyranny of the majority, monarchy of sorts. If someting works well there is a big chance of keeping it onward for the next 30 years.
What they actually do is someting in itself. Laws and decisions based on what form it currenty is.
However they will decide the most importent group, the people who are in charge of building roads and railways and that stuff. The "decisioners".
The decisioners will be the ones who are in charge of building roads and railways. And by that i mean the controll over what to build and when to and etc...... They also decide what roads must be fixed and similar, and more. Like where to build that power plant also, which makes them very importent.
In the contrast to the rest of the groups you could say they got the most power, which is also the most limited.

Too much text! Brain xplosion.
Maybe we should just turn over government to some inanimate object like a computer or a holy book.

We kind of had that since year 300? And it failed in epic ways.

Yes, I know. I'm poking fun at Muslims, who refuse to learn from our mistake and insist on repeating it.

Why must voter systems be so complicated?
You have to know what gets voted on, and who can vote, and how often they vote, and how votes get counted, and when people vote for people who go and vote on other things instead of directly voting, and people who vote for people who vote for people who don't vote but decide how the people's votes get counted, and when what got voted on affects the voters or other people or if it just cancels a previous vote of the people who got voted for by the voters, and vote what vote people other vote who people vote people how vote but vote people the why vote people vote...
I call for a simplification! A more perfect Republic.
Representatives for city areas; semiannually staggered elections, all voters participate.
Representatives vote directly on everything else.
