Someone deleted the LGBT thread? Why would someone delete a thread with that many posts in it?

Quote: He was generally well-liked. He made some great posts. He's one of those people that sparked HC once again and I enjoy that. He wasn't someone who should post in OSM though, since he had the general attitude of: "You don't agree with me, ou are against me!" which is rather annoying in such places. I won't say more of it since I our territories rarely crossed.
Well I generally suspected he was more of the type of "I am as aggressive as people who I condemn" -- not that it's necessarily a bad thing always. Or rather, when he was pissed for a reason I can't understand on discussions that "had posters who never listen", and he didn't bother to check them in detail... let's just say that what he actually meant was "You all don't listen, because you should all just agree with me. Don't point out flaws in my reasoning, that means you don't listen!". (something like that). I am mainly talking about OSM off-topicness arguments here of course.
If you will find this post as being impolite because it is talking behind someone who's gone -- I really don't care, and I actually don't think it's impolite at all. I've always been honest about it at least, instead of letting it inside and then blowing up like some other members (e.g: Father).
One lesson is taught once again. I prefer arrogant but honest members to sneaky who don't show their true colors until they explode.
Quote: Oh, well, I suppose the sensitive have no place here
Like DC...
No that's far from it. I don't like to speak bad behind on someone who's gone, but DC was way more mature, which is very ironical. Yes he was sensitive (like Father), but he never actually was enraged to just **** up the community only for himself, he simply stated he's leaving and that's that. Call it attention-seeking, I don't care, but it's a totally different thing.

I used to like Father. Then, for some reason, he started hating me. I have no idea why.
Okay, who deleted the LGBT thread? Many of us had some good posts in there. What, shall TA delete IGUOBIG? Or MM delete What Is Love? No. That is not permissible.

me too. That was my point. I'm not exactly convinced that it was a 'change' i think he was just hiding his true colors before. Which is a pity

Let's not be too harsh with Father. I disliked part of his attititude (agreeing with some points Death made), but I don't think Father would have wanted to delete the whole thread, only his personal posts.
Well, what can you say, he quite obviously DOES do things on impulse the usual guy would shrink back from, which will everyone know who read the deleted thread. Add to that his recent troubles and emotional state and there you go.
I may not have been on best bud terms with him and vice versa, but I think he has added a tad of colour to the community, and personally I'll pronbably miss him and his contributions.
I'd wish for him to get his personal situation straight and maybe come back after that, but if it doesn't happen, that's that.
That the threac is gone - tough luck but maybe it's kind of an omen. It was his thread and now it's gone. Maybe he'll reopen it in a couple of weeks.

I think it was Sir Stiven who once said this and I agree with him. It was something along the lines of that when you post a thread to HC, it's not yours, it's a part of the community. Deleting it is deleting many valuable posts made by other members and if it's just deleted then all those posts were essentially a waste of time and won't be seen again. Which just sucks.

Really this is sad... and extremely selfish for Father to delete that whole thread in which everyone contributed with a lot of interesting posts.
In the beginning he was really different and I kinda liked him as a poster... I mean people even thought that he'd make a good Mod in the OSM some day, and I had the same opinion... can't believe it ended up like this though.
Shame the thread was deleted and by the way I think it would be good to hear the Mod that deleted the thread's reasoning about it... and why he agreed with Father about that, maybe there's more here than what we know.

Neither mysty, shadow nor angelito deleted the thread. And considering that the thread wasn't around for a year it could have been deleted by him, delete the first post and the thread poofs out of existence.

Actually I came up with that notion first Willy .
I just said it differently.
I think we all know he is watching this so it's not really talking behind his back. it is his choice.
Personally I dont know how he deleted the thread either.
I think his true colors slightly came out during April fools when he got fooled.
Then yesterday.
I mean the anger was just there.
It is too bad though. I actually liked him yesterday before it happened. I tried at first to reason with him until he wrote that long IM to me. Then I basically said Screw him.
I dont get it.
I was never into the L/G thread but many of you was. It would be like Hamsi destroying the Tosser Tavern we both built because he did not like us anymore.
It was not only selfish but he turned on everyone. He did not care & he basically gave us all the finger on his way out the door because he could not hold his feelings.

No, members cannot delete threads. If I wanted one of mine removed, I'd have to ask a moderator. I could delete the content of the first post, but it wouldn't affect the rest of the topic.
