I felt that the only "major" thing that was left out in CoS was Almost Headless Nicks deathday party. But that chapter didnt advance the plot at all.

To be fair, the Chamber of Secrets was an atrociously bad book, easily the author's weakest book out of the 7, IMO. My dad got me the first four books (since then, I've read all 7) about 4 years ago. I was skimming through Book 2 saying, make it stop!
It's just...I don't know how to explain it. Just bad.
But yeah, they've butchered the books a fair deal. Here's hoping the last movies aren't so bad.
Well, it could be worse, it could be another rendition of Eragon.
If you haven't seen the movie, don't. For your own sake.

I found the last movie pretty rushed, better that I did not see it in the cinema. And since I had read the books after the second movie I could care less about the adaptations, the chance of a movie beating the book is almost nonexistent and certainly unrealistic for such a book overflowing with details and everyday moments. Last time I was disappointed by a book adaptation was the two towers, I gave up comparing movies with books since. Better to treat the book as something new and roll with it, I just never understood why you would change something if you are gonna make it worse.
I didn't like much the new Dumbledore and him not bothering to read the book, well says a few things. Alan Rickman certainly is fun to watch, also liked him in Sweeney Todd The guy's got style. At any rate I will probably watch this one in the big screen, seems promising.
