Quote: What do you mean by timeframe? The limited length of a movie or something else?
Yupp, time. The best example is that a chapter in a book that is pure talking with minor detail descriptions is ages longer than a chapter going in a scene description and well detailed combat when it comes to the movie.
An example: A standard manga chapter is roughly 20 pages, which itself is roughly 7-14 minutes of anime. A standard anime got about 22-26 minuttes - roughly 2-3 minutes on the opening and endings, which leaves us with roughly 19-23 minutes of animation/film. Then we adapt a serie who has just ended, it reached about 406 chapters. And we make it 26 episodes(a season), and cram it all into that.
Because of this:
*Changes
*Dialogs lost
*Minor plots lost
*Thus usually resulting in major plotholes
*Etc
Movie adaption of a comic books tend to suffer the same, in ways. The difference is what they adapt, a standard movie is usually 70-100 minutes long is it?

A manga has two hundred pages I remember and a comic book has thirty to fifty usually
Anyway, since manga's originate from American comics, I think both are comparable in these terms. If we have to admit we read them we call them both "graphic novels" just the same
But there are very few adaptations of mangas that I know of and many of comic books that I know of.
Anyway, I always enjoy things like sin city and 300 (both written by frank Miller?) And I enjoy most renditions of batman... Just don't include Schwarzenegger kay?
Quote: do good comic books make a good movie?
I believe that the quality fo ether doesn't really interfere with the quality of the other. Bad movies can always be made and I'm willing to accept good movies can be made out of bad comics. After all, if the comic book was badly in need of an audio element, the movie would most certainly help
