I know from personal experience that private health care is much better than government health care.
Yes and that is because poor people usually don't log in forums, even less so HC, and tell their stories

Hence the glowing yellow eyes? What country are you from BTW?
Anyway, outsourcing can be good in many cases, but it shouldn't be done on such a massive scale. A LOT of companies have used these times to dump even more workers despite not even being close to losing their profit margins.
Edit:
Glenn Beck himself used to say America's healthcare system sucked until he started going by the "ewww, socialism" talking points.

Mvass, what is it that you're referring to as public health care? Do you mean Medicare or HCAP or something? I don't really see why the care itself should be different. Maybe you just got a bad doctor.

No, I'm talking about the health care system in a country that has universal health care. And I had one of the best doctors in the country.

Any doctor is capable of human error. And on top of that human bodies aren't digital, we're each different and the same surgery for the same issue may have unintentional side effects on certain people.
That being said, I'm sorry for what happened to your eyes.
Which country was it BTW?

To be fair, Russia isn't exactly as well known for its healthcare.

As somebody said if we get to put personal experience in, I have worse horror stories about 'private' healthcare then the ones about 'government' healthcare.

Both types of healthcare have to rely on doctors. Doctors are human and prone to mistakes. Even the most famous doctors in the world have made mistakes.

Appearantly the public option will be build on the free market afterall.
"He called claims that he is attempting to promote socialism “bogus” and, in response to a question from Cara Wilder, who is out of work with two young kids, he said his objective is not to copy public healthcare as it exists in Canada, Britain, or countries in Europe, but to promote an American one that builds on the free market."

Sadly he may actually pull it off. Not saying the government can't suprise me and do a good job, but I find it as likely as me stepping foot on the sun. One question is, however, can they do worse then the current insurance companies if they start their own. There is plenty of red tape in the current companies.
Good luck getting insurance with a 'preexsisting' condition. I believe the cheapest I have been offered is $200 a month, and that is with heafty deductables, low lifetime payouts, and even when deductables have been fufilled I have to pay up to 80% for somethings (as low as 20% for others).
My job, which has EXCELLENT benefits can't even get me on their insurance.

That sucks =(
BTW. In the states that have enacted massive tort reform, insurance costs have not gone down. Companies need to actually do what people say they would do with lower costs but companies are run by people just as corruptible as politicians and put any savings directly into profits rather than using them to lower costs for the customer (and getting more profits through more customers instead of more money per customer). Either that or people are just lazy.

English, Canadian, French, German, Japanese, Israeli people all love their government health care.
77% of Americans think it's at least "Quite important" to provide a public health option.
Stephen Hawking, who people who rant about death panels say would be euthenized in a public health system loves th national health system.
Commentators lie and say you can't get hip replacements after 55 in public health systems.

Just remember 98% of statistics are misleading or can be inturpreted different ways. 34% of statistics are completely made up. 22% of Statistics are just guesses, and 1% of statistics have some validity. (Yes that is 155% )
When you poll for an answer for something the numbers are always slanted. Let me explain. Ask 100 people in an urban setting about something. Now ask 100 people who live in slums. 100 farmers. Etc. I am pretty certain that the numbers would be pretty different. Unless you are asking if a stopsign is red or something.
Now add to this that the surveys are volunteer, and the answers change even more. The last time I had time to 'volunteer' to answer a survey I think I had just turned 18. Don't even remember what the survey was about.
Sorry for off topic.
/off topic
Let us get back to the current issues at hand. 'Cash for clunkers' has been a dismal failure. That was just money, not somebody's life.
Although the current system is messed up beyond all hope, I would shudder to think what the government would do to it.
The banks have made a huge profit, and the 'recession' is over (they say). Yay? Nobody has figured out that they need to be broken up so that if something happens again it WON'T be such a big deal? They mess up again, let em sink. No million dollar bonuses to management while Rome burns thanks. ((Wonder which of them was playing the fiddle this time?))
Obama has lost some of his approval rating. Despite the fact that he only inherited the mess, and it would be the same thing if any other President was in there. Maybe even worse (Hmm maybe I shouldn't have been so quick to judge Hillary ).
One part of the government has their thumbs where the sun don't shine and their 'opposition' wears blindfolds and sucks their thumbs. I will let you decide which is which. Lobbist make them rich, the rest can go jump in the lake.
