Hi guys. Very intrigued about VCMI and the work that is being done to it. This may seem absurd to those more familiar with VCMI and modding in general but I am wondering if the campaign I have been working on in WOG could be workable in VCMI?

I use WOG primarily for the numerous extra decorative objects that have been released through mods for it as well as the extra creatures/upgrades.

I have spent a lot of time mapmaking in WOG but am wondering if it's possible to load up my WOG maps with their extra objects into the VCMI editor and continue working on them there?

Unfortunately not at the moment - there was WoG map support back in the day but it got broken at some point as there was overhaul related to WoG mod etc.

SoD and HotA 1.6 format is supported

Another patch just landed: VCMI 1.4.5

Changelog:
- Fixed crash on creature spellcasting
- Fixed crash on unit entering magical obstacles such as quicksands
- Fixed freeze on map loading on some systems
- Fixed crash on attempt to start campaign with unsupported map format
- Fixed crash on opening creature information window with invalid SPELL_IMMUNITY bonus
- Fixed placement of guards in random map generator sometimes resulting into open connection into third zone
- Fixed rare crash on multithreaded access during placement of artifacts or wandering monsters in random map generator
- Fixed inspector in map editor using wrong editor for some values
- Fixed bug leading to AI not attacking wandering monsters in some cases
- Fixed crash on using StupidAI for autocombat or for enemy players

New version 1.5.0 just arrived! Download

As promised, this time we focused on PvP gameplay. We set up a brand new online lobby with private room and features suggested by PvP community. Also, Raandom Map Generator was improved to provide more balanced and nice-looking maps.

Android version now gets proper VCMI launcher with all the mod details. Also, online lobby allows crossplay between all the platforms. You can even use custom game controller.

As usual tons of fixed an quality-of-life improvements, especially for GUI. VCMI gets more and more polished and critical bugs are rare.

Random map scoring

Hello!

First of all I want to say a big thank you to the team for making this project. I have been playing on Linux and enjoying very much.

Now for my question: the last game I played was a random map generated with a Spider template. Free for all, me and 7 npc:s.
First time the game ended I did not dig the grail and got some amount of points. Then I decided to try and find the grail from the map so I loaded an autosave, dug around and found it pretty fast and ended the game. The score, however, did not go up as I think it should have gone. Instead, I lost 3 points from the final score which is due to the couple of days of digging.

Am I missing something or should the finding of the grail have boosted my final score by a lot? The difference in days was only 2-3 and I had already played for like 75 days.

Sorry for late answer - counting grail for high scores is implemented but maybe there is some bug (i do not recall this being reported before). Sorry for inconvenience anyway and thank you for report.

Sorry about the off topic but are there any famous custom maps for VCMI as there are for WoG, Era & Hota?
I never tried this mod, but I would if it wasn't a Jebus map...

So far there are just few custom maps made - you can check "Antagarich burning" mod made by Andruids - it consists of 3 maps

There will be more map content coming for sure when Andruids' next mod (War of the Faeries) will be released.

ATM VCMI is more about fresh gameplay coming from new content, different AI or custom balance changes rather than new maps - VCMI map editor is in usable but in pretty rough state right now, anyway it will be improved over time as well as other elements.
