Mobile Guards
How do you play H4?. Do you play with Mobile, or Stationary Guards?.
I've been using mobile, but I haven't been playing long. I'm thinking of turning it off, I'm finding it annoying.

Mobile is great : )
It makes you use more movement points thus making scouting skill tree worth more, it also makes armies with creatures worth less and makes the gameplay last longer but I still love it cos it looks much more real and its more fair for the neutrals. The best part is if they think they're weaker they will not attack you while in their area.

Do you guys use the Equilibris mod, or standard H4?. I think I'm gonna switch to Equilibris to see the difference between the two.
Edit: With the fog of war sometimes you get caught off guard, it makes mobile guards very frustrating. It's a pain in the beginning.

I use Equilibris. It's pretty cool and makes H4 a better game but it still has some balance problems. I mean, some choices are still so obvious, but some have been fixed (Naga/Genie, Ogre Mage/Cyclope etc....)
But some friends of mine modded h4 themselves and made the balance MUCH better, as i think twice even before obvious choices such as vampires/venom spawns or angels/champions. Unfortunately it isn't compatible with Equilibris and they aren't really planning on Publishing it =/ (I use it though).

Nope. I believe the final has a year or two. Creating 6 campaigns is no easy mission.

So using Equalibris is just for playing single scenarios?. At least it's easy to switch between the two (Standard and Equalibris,) because I haven't played any of the campaigns yet.

You can play Hotseat and online but they must have Equilibris too. When you install it, you will notice the Equilibris logo which runs Equilibris, but also the Winds of War logo. If you run WoW, then you may play it as well.

I installed Equilibris, I thought it would install into it's own directory whithin the Heroes 4 folder, but it doesn't.
Example: 'C:\Games\Heroes 4\Equilibris'
I installed it directly into the Heroes 4 directory 'C:\Games\Heroes 4', is this okay?.
I followed the instructions in the FAQ from the Equilibris website. Intructions on how to install using standard Heroes IV.
Edit: I noticed that the arrows < [Item] > to add or subtract items in the Blacksmith and Armories, are no longer shown. You have to click on the items to add them, but you can't subtract.
I'm liking the changes made.
Sorry for going off-topic people.

This is how it is :D
If you have yellow movement arrows then you are in some creatures mobile zone. If it's green you are safe, that's all there is to is btw its 4 squares and cos they are with romboid form up, down, left and right is actually longer than up-right, up-left, down-right and down-left.

I think it tells you that in the 'tutorial' eh?. Is it in the manual too?.
Edit: Yep, it's in the manual...
MOVEMENT ON THE ADVENTURE MAP
To move on the Adventure Map, simply click on the spot you want
to travel to and an "X" will appear. Click on that spot again and you
will move to that location. You will notice a dotted line shows you
the path your army will take. Normally, this path is green to indicate
that the route you have chosen is safe. However, if the path turns
yellow, that means the route you have chosen passes within the
guard radius of an enemy army and you could be attacked. Finally,
if the path changes to red, it means your army doesn’t have enough
movement points to get to its destination, and you won’t be able to
move again until the next turn.
As you move your cursor over the Adventure Map, you will notice
that the horse cursor 'rears up' when you run it over an object like a
town or creature dwelling. This means you can either visit or enter
that object. To enter an object, move the cursor over the object until
the 'rearing horse' appears, then double-click it.
Finally, if a pair of ‘crossed swords’ appear, that means you can't
move to that spot until you defeat whatever creature or army stands
in your path. The ‘crossed swords’ are known as the Attack Cursor.
When the Attack Cursor appears over an enemy town, you cannot
enter the town until you defeat its garrisoned army.

I go with mobile guards.
I would assume that you would go with mobile guards if you want an increased level of difficulty. Mobile guards will limit your ability to move about on the map until you have an army strong enough to take on any mobile guards that might be in your path so they affect your strategy regarding where to go and when.
