Here's the messed up part:
1. I agree. It's an atrocious idea.
2. Unfortunately, it's lesbians. A group of lesbians in the same area. Guys would love to watch this.
As a result: Atrocious idea with epic TV ratings.
Much like most of today's television.

What worries me is the stereotypes and cliches you KNOW the people running this will have on the show. It's 'reality drama' for Pete's sake! So only the loudest, most unfaithful, most conniving will be put on air. SOOOO a bad idea.

Paving the way? It is going to be a homosexual show (as lesbianism is defined as Homosexual you know).. also..there have been Homosexual shows, movies, etc already. You are aware of this correct? (Queer eye for the Straight guy, Brokeback Mountain..). Its kinda weird though...
Female Homosexuals are a bit more accepted in society then Male Homosexuals, but the one thing shows have avoided is pure lesbian leads. There have been lesbian undertones, and openly bisexual leads, but no actual lesbian leads in mainstream. Ie there has never been a 'brokeback mountain' for lesbians. Or not that I know of. Hinted at? Sure? Alluded to? Absolutely.
Then again female leads (and not with a male lead backing them up) is rare also. So that might have a lot to do with it. Heck even Xena, which had a STRONG LGBT following never actually openly had a lesbian relationship. Though Gabriele was 'possessed' by a former MALE lover of Xena's and they kissed.

Lesbians are more accepted because they don't threaten men who are afraid another man might find them attractive. Don't know why. Any man or woman who finds me attractive has excellent tastes.

I have a non choosen feeling towards gay guys that they're disgusting. I know they're human beings just like the rest and I think I've pretty good control over the feeling to not let it influence me and it really only emerges when I loose control of my thoughts (where earlier in time it would emerge much easier).
These days it triggers if someone who have told they're gay is trying to be so friendly towards me I start thinking that they maybe come on to me and then the thought triggers, yet I'm pretty sure it doesn't show.
Earlier it used to be in the moment I was told someone was gay the thought and thereby the feeling would trigger.
Getting used to people telling you that they're gay helped a great deal, I recorded myself saying it in a voice that didn't sound like me (I had a bad throat that day, so I took advantage of it), and concentrated hard on finding something else, yet meaningful, to think when someone tells me they're gay.
The same line of better thoughts now activates when someone looks 'gay' or acts in a way that's cliche for gays to act, so it's all good.
Though I wonder how come some people have the need to come out of the closet towards people they hardly know. I don't go and tell people what I am, though it's probably preassumed and maybe in general it's preassumed what other people preassumes. Oh well, I think it's better really not to get so much into it, and the occassional feeling that follows an unfortunate train of thoughts shouldn't be something to worry about as long as one is in control and don't let ones feelings be in control.
On the other hand, with gay girls, I have no negative feelings, probably because they aren't part of the set of people who I'd not want to come on to me and who have any realistic chance of comming on to me.
Though maybe in general, it also have something to do with when gay guys come on to you, you never know if they see you as "the girl" and then will keep on pressing, or as "the boy" and then in general wouldn't come on to you in the first place. It's some wild assumption to think the standard western way of boy girl interactions when comming on to eachother can be extrapolated to guy guy and girl girl, but I think it's a non-valid conclusion that derives itself unless one is aware of it already. [Basicly meaning, people might assume, due to the way of guy girl interactions that when a gay guy tries to come on to another guy, then the gay guy is seen as the "boy" and that makes the other guy the "girl" and as a result, the gay guy might not take no for an answer and will keep on pressing the matter].
Oh well, just some thoughts on subject of why guy guy might be uncomfortable for another guy, eventhough, as you say, it opens up for more girls in principle, while girl girl is cool [that has also probably something to do with people realising the "market" is so big that there is always plenty of attractive single people around, no matter if some of them happens to be lesbians, as long as there're plenty].

Maybe Mytical is in general against stereotyping groups of people, i.e. giving the impression every individual of a given group behaves in a certain way. After all, it does lead to differentiating between people who either get emotionally effected and cannot control this (a form for manipulation) or directly uses this kind of entertainment media as sufficient justification to draw conclusions (I know some people who are like that).
There's nothing wrong in stereotyping, there's something wrong in the maybe bad influence it'll create, it's understandable to worry about this, but of course not enough to justify not stereotyping just as much as because someone threatens with blowing up stuff in your country is not sufficient justificiation to make certain drawings illegal.

Well ok but there's no separate non-derogatory term for gay males so I was just trying to be nice.
Anyhow, I meant a male homosexual reality show. In the context of the aforementioned lesbian reality show.

That actually made my laugh quite a bit. Was really cute coming from you Shyranis (I'm really happy that you're still with us...since you're such a nice person. Oh and having a female arround might actually keep some of the more off the chain people in cheeck.). "Bum stuff" xD. Naaah gay people are cool. One of my best friends is gay... he's a very succesfull expresionist dancer (from the "Tanztheater Wuppertal" in case that means anything to anyone) and god I love him... he's so great. And really "bum stuff" isn't all that limited to homosexual couples (unfortunately) it's one of the things that come to mind first for some people.

Never said bum stuff was Gay Exclusive =D
I haven't really met a gay person I didn't like. Unless it was somebody I had reason to dislike and I didn't know thy were gay of course.
People have to usually do something to make me dislike them, and typically they have to try pretty hard.
