Well, yeah, the convent represents order a bit...yet it also, weirdly, represents freedome. And UNITY, above all. I imagined teh convent being like an almost perfect communism...
I thought that order thingy because you said the progenitors want to brign stagnation into universe, which brings the ultimate "order" as opposite of chaos: no changes anymore...no changes no chaos...so that's the progenitors new goal...
...yet that seems a bit of the religous fanatic type, meaning good, but doing evil things in name of that...had that more in mind ofr the Order of light

I originally wanted for the Progenitors to aim to try and hit Restart on the entire universe and remake it in their own image. they see, ultimately, themselves being threatened by not only the forces of chaos (who represent entrophy, decay and eventual chaos), but all these new races who have popped up. They've escaped from the Reality war, looked around at the universe and said "Sweet Ji'noz, it's worse than before! we need to reset this MotherF**ker Asap" and have redoubled their efforts to do so.
in a way, they kind of represent order, but they want more than that. they have been forgotten by the races, only their ruins remain, which have been worshipped as gods by many races. they want to be treated as such, and bring the universe under their rule as the ultimate system of order, where people will sacrifice themselves on the ground they tread.
Vain b@stards, aren't they? It's their self righteousness that drives them, their need to become gods they believe they diserve to be. if that means untold billions of worlds suffer, then so be it, they have no desire for it to be anything other than them ruling supremely over all. indignantly marching forward, believing that the universe owes this to them, and if they will not do it willingly, they will melt the cosmos down and refashion it in a design they enjoy.

I'm struggling with names there...thought of latin ones?
f.e. I imagined somehting like THIS on the lower tiers:
They could be called "Militarius"
Otehr fine names:
"Magister/Dominus Belli/Bellum = Master/Lord of War
Vindicta = Revenge
Vindex = Revenger
and so on
...yet that was allready done last HCTC for a machine faction...
otherwise I thaught of driving teh begun number-thing of terran alliance to a painful maximum: These are machines aren't they. So wouldnÄt they prefer numbers/codes over words...
So unit names like
ST 4500
ZT-15
JH-290
and so on

Now we see for the heroes, for the first time...
Each faction has two ground heroe classes:
A "might"-hero class, focusing on attack, leadership and such.
A "science"-hero class, focusing on technologies.
Both hero classes of a faction use the same racial/s
Terran Alliance:
-
-
Nietzscheans:
-Warlord
-Eugenicist
Galactic Federation:
-General
-Scientific Councellor
Hive:
-
-Hyposociologist
Convent of Machines:
-Strategus/Centurio
-Archivarius
Auto-Repair - Convent and machine units gain a specific co,bat regeneration based on level of racial.
Merchants Union:
-Taskforce Commander
-
Order of Light:
-Paladin
-Eminence
Silicoids:
-
-
Forces of Chaos:
-
-
Necromancers:
-
-Necrologist
Progenitors:
-Former
-Creator
I have an idea for scenarios...you can choose ONE possible attribute of your race, whcih has positive and negative effects. These are:
TA:
Greed -
Racism -
N:
Militarism - Heroes have less technology points, but all damage dealt through combat (melee or ranged) (by heroes AND units) is slightly improved.
Superior - Extreme moral loss for race mixing, Nietzschean unit attack&defense increased.
Competitive - All Nietzschean unit stats are increased - except of hp, which is reduced by 10%, as well as reduced growth rate. (due to internal fights)
GF:
Bureaucracy - The usage of any orbital/citybound/Etc weapon and device is slowed down massively, but???
H:
Mental Unity - the initiative of all hive units in your army (the hero seen as unit for this purpose) becomes equal to the highest ini amongst this units, but the moral becomes equal to the lowest. MIND: THIS EFFECT CHANGES THE INI/MORAL of ALL UNITS WHEN THAT OF THE HIGHEST/LOWEST IS CHANGED OR WHEN THE LOWEST/HIGHEST UNIT becomes a different one (f.e. through magic, abilities, or when a unit of you dies)
CM:
Mechanic Thoughts - heroes gain less exp, but they and all convent units an initiative bonus of 10%.
Alterations -
MU:
Trade - The effect of your markets is increased as if you had 1 market more;
OL:
Fanatism - High moral increase for ORder units, decreased defense.
S:
FC:
N:
P:
arrogance- units from other factions within the heroes army will suffer from negative moral, whilst Progenitor unit's benefit from positive moral.

I thought of the Chaos space units
Tier 1: Pit Spawn
Tier 2: Shadows
Tier 3: Hellburnt
Tier 4: Magog
Tier 5: Darkness
Tier 6: Destruction
Tier 7: Doom (yours)
Are they what your looking for?

I have an idea for Federation's 7th Tier
Eradnids: A very large race that resembles a four legged spider with a human-like torso where the mouth should be. The torso is about the size of a real human's torso. Eradnids are very intelligent; one Eradnid could learn English, Eradus (Eradnid), Spanish, Cheruban (Cherub), Colvarish (Colvarian), French and Daemon Tounge fluently in just 3 years. Despite their enormous size, incredible power, and monsterous appearance, the Eradnids hate fighting. Yes, much to the Federation's dismay, Eradnids only fight if it's the only option left. They more often are diplomats than warriors!
Is that okay?

Hmmm...all arthropodian beings I thought should be neutral or Hive...so I like this more as a high tier neutral creature or maybe one of teh Federation heroes is such a being?

Well, there not very spidery. I just compared them to spiders and got the name from there. (Eradnids = Arachnids) Sorta imagained a more beast-like appearance. Plus, I have three good points: 1. They have actual feet, "four toed lizard" style, sorta. 2. They are quite big, like really big. No heroes as them. To clunky. 3. You already have an alien as a high tier for Federation, they would complete the alien cycle (How many aliens do you have right now in the Federation, anyways? If only the Colvarian, they need more).

Hmmm, maybe. Not totally confessed, though.
Trooper ain't necessarily human, though humanoid and probably full armored, so it won't be really seeable, probably.
Agent will be alien.
Jetbike pilot is alien too.
Valor Guard human, maybe improved human for upgrade.
Android is humanoid shaped robot.
Colvarian of course is alien.
Of course you're right, the federation army must have a big variety of different races.
idea for trooper: The troopers recruit from all kind of species, if only they are rather humanoid. upgrades could be specific Species. Begendrian Troopers, f.e.
